Being called by name in a dream?

A few nights ago, I had a dream where someone called me by my name.  I realized this almost never happens in my dreams.

 

What about you?   How often are you called by name in your dreams?

don't remember that happening but i do remember once having a dream that once I figured out it was a dream I started yelling at mnyslf to wake up going as far as saying "WAKE UP JACKASS!"

Huh. That's an interesting question I'd never really thought of before, and I can't say I'm really sure.

 

I can say that around half of the time I'm not myself in my dreams; I'm either another person (not usually anyone specific, just a person my dream has made up), or I'm just watching over a situation without taking on anyone POV (or sometimes taking on a bunch of different POVs in the same dream).

 

I can't remember specific instances of someone calling me by name when I am myself in my dreams, but I think it probably does happen sometimes. I'm gonna try to pay more attention to that now.

I don't think I'm very often called by name in dreams, but I'm often called by my nickname (one that's not a shortened form of my name)

Doesn't happen often in real life. Same for dreams.

Also possibly because I'm never out of sight or earshot in my dreams, so people directly talk to me than about me, no confusion. But will try to observe this in future dreams (if only I could record!).

Now that I think about it...no? I'm always watching my dreams from a 3rd person perspective, liking I'm hovering just above the scene.

My dreams are usually silent too, but I have been called by my name sometimes and it's weird especially since I hate my name :P

I'm transformed into someone else in my dreams, so my name isn't always called. I'm interested in dreams, so this is an interesting question!

Sometimes my name changes in dreams and I know it changes, sometimes I can remember who I was before and sometimes I can't.Usually when my name is being called its in a nightmare.
