fragglerock
Someone calls this "Bread company" as in "Let's go eat at the Bread Company"? That's a fun way to talk about it I admit but it feels like referring to "Disney World" as just "World".

Abigail Rose
Their food is garbage. These places spring up all over the place and push their trendy food culture like it's fine art but, in reality, their food is not that great. There are much better bagel companies and soup/sandwich shops are all the same.

Grumpy Alien
“Panera” but the closest one to where I lived in America was about an hour away. When medical supply sales people came to speak to the neurosurgeons I worked with, they often came from Philly and brought boxed lunches from Panera. They had no idea the Atlantic City area doesn’t have Panera or how fucking excited we’d all get when we saw those boxes enter the staff room. One time they brought a few vegetarian boxes (because they ask ahead if there’s any dietary requirements) without realising I was the ONLY vegetarian. I feasted on Panera for like 5 straight meals. The boxes were no joke - they were huge. They had like sandwiches, soup, a baguette, cookies, chips/crisps... And they brought those lovely iced teas in giant jugs as well. I don’t even like iced tea but Panera’s plum ginger hibiscus iced tea??? Super refreshing. 🤤 I’ve only actually been to a Panera once when I went to a funeral in Philly. I think we looked ridiculous all dressed up and tear stained but excited for food. I regret nothing.

Alawyn-Aebt
Clearly not many people have visited/live in St. Louis, Missouri. I call it Panera but when visiting St. Louis I did see, and stop to eat (downtown St. Louis was surprisingly devoid of restaurants) at one called the Saint Louis Bread Company. zalo1111
haha... I've worked here before and I live in the St Louis area.. St Louis Bread Company is the original name of the company, and they keep a few locations in the city of STL with the original name for nostalgia. Also "Panera" is literally a shitty marketing technique combining the works "Pan" and "Era". pov: panera/breadco is basic.
bertiewooster
I’ve eaten there once as I was on a trip with my parents a few years ago and they wanted to eat at a restaurant I hated and this was right next door. It was all right, but kind of pricey. Bread Co. is...odd. I call it Panera, lmao.
Larkaloke
Panera, or more often Panera's; I'm afraid we really do add the possessive onto every vaguely name-sounding company in Michigan.
