Evie:)
hi guys I've recently come to realise that in probably asexual, and I'm having trouble coming out to my parents. My sister knows and she was so nice cause she's bisexual and very chill, and a few of my friends know. But I don't know if it's worth coming out to my parents. I'm still young (17) so they might just think it's a 'normal' thing to not not feel sexual attraction. And also I'm not 100% sure if I am asexual. The way I put it to my friend is that im like 85% sure but I dont wanna come out and then have to come back in. Also I'm not even sure if they know what asexuality even is. They were fine about my sister but I feel like bisexuality has slightly more visibility so it was easier for them to understand? Anway, any help would be greatly appreciated From a newbie ace, Evie
Howard
Hi Evie! It did take me few years of thoughts jogging in my mind to come out to my mom. The worst you could do is pretend someone you're not.
Sarah-Sylvia
Hi Welcome to the site 🍰🧁 You don't need to come out if you don't want to. You can if you want though some parents do say 'you just haven't found the right one yet', etc. It's up to you whether you want to be true about how you are, or keep it to say to your partners. Either way, it's ok to be you

Lichley
Welcome! I definitely recommend figuring out what you want to say in advance and gathering some resources to help explain, speaking of: http://www.asexualityarchive.com/a-parents-guide-to-asexuality/ https://www.vox.com/culture/2018/3/26/16291562/asexuality-tv-history-bojack-shadowhunters-game-of-thrones
