Believe it or not, I registered this account in June 2009 😮 I know, I didn't believe it myself when I recovered the credentials and looked at my profile 😅 So it's taken me... what year is this? Ah, the infamous 2020, so only 11 years to decide to write this post, I'm one who likes to plan everything carefully! Writing intros is hard, talking about myself is hard, but it has to be done if one wants to have their own piece of cake (I have read the rules!), so here goes: I'm here because I've never had any interest in painting... no, wait, what was it? Ah, sex, sex, right, however I never disclosed that explicitly to anyone until now, so I thought I'd try to see what that yields, although I don't think I'm going to see many surprised faces here hehe... (baby steps, baby steps) The Big Bang I emerged from nothingness in the '80s in a small European town, and I'd say I had a happy childhood, lots of football in the park and cycling on the mountains (no, we didn't have smartphones and facebook back then). The Dark Ages From those years in school when the other boys started talking about sex and bringing and exchanging all the stuff that comes with that, however, I realised I couldn't really get any interest in all that, although of course I had to pretend to the best of my ability to fit in, as I at least tried to understand the scientific reasons behind that behaviour: there was no LGBTABCXYZ, it was "either with us or you're gay", so of course everyone was straight as an arrow 🤫 Nonetheless pretending and acting proved to be extremely hard, tiring and somewhat humiliating, so that's how I soon isolated myself from the other people of my age, and turned to spending my time playing videogames at home (did you think studying? I wish now, lol): even though I was living in a small town, I ended up practically not knowing anyone's name or face there, so going out became progressively embarrassing, and that also turned me into a quite awkward person to deal with, as I didn't develop a very extensive understanding of the social norms... Well, yes, I "wasn't very happy" those years, let's put it this way, and also later at Uni it took me a long time to graduate, because I didn't have the determination and focus to study as hard as I should have... Anyway I got that sorted too eventually 🤓 Without the need to attend lectures anymore though, I really had no more excuses to leave home, Ishouldhavestartedlookingforajobbutwhatever, so I wasted a few more years like that...🐢 The Renaissance One day though who knows what flipped in my brain, (my parents couldn't care too much), I decided to go and ask advice to a therapist, who in a bunch of sessions convinced me to move far, far, far away from home, to force me to finally gain control of my life. As I had been dreaming about it for a long time, I packed my backpack and relocated my life Down Under, which turned to be the best decision of my life so far. I have a creative job as a software developer (yes, for me it's creative, ok?), and am much happier because I finally reached a very high degree of self sufficiency and even self confidence. Still, my social skills haven't made the same progress, so perhaps I'm here to work a bit on that too 💪 I think I could write just about anything at this point, since noone is reading anymore, well, what am I interested in (besides computer nerding), I love love languages and linguistics, and also deep philosophical discussions (although I'm no philosopher), politics (but am no politician) and civil rights (but am no civilrightician), ah, I'm vegan too, so please at least find creative ways to insult me, which I do find entertaining 😉 Peace and love to all Link to post Share on other sites

I was undecided whether to create a brand new account to make people less confused, but the coolness factor of owning an old account weighted much more in my final choice 😎 Link to post Share on other sites

I was born in 1985, and in my case, I realised that I'm an aromantic asexual in my early teens around 14 when I started hearing romantic and sexual comments from my peers and in media and felt bewildered.
