michaeld
This post is to collect outcomes and feedback from the UK asexuality conference, held online on Sunday 6 September 2020. It was a great day, made possible by the work of a long list of volunteers as well as of course the panellists and hosts, and the enthusiastic audience, who participated through live comments, asking questions to panellists on SliDo and of course in the Gather Room. We had over 750 registered and confirmed participants, which is definitely a record for any conference we've held! In this thread I'd like to collect Links to the videos Other conference outcomes SliDo questions submitted by the audience including those we didn't get to The ideas collected on the sticky boards from Gather Additional documents our panellist would like to share Any blogs or articles coming out of the conference Another sticky allowing you to add ideas or contact details after the conference, or advertising your own projects you'd like help with Events coming up and how to be involved in ace vis/ed A link to our fundraiser to make future conferences possible whether in person or virtual. If you were at the conference you should also receive a feedback questionnaire by email (before close of play today). If you don't, please let us know! This will be a work in progress. If you'd like to add something to the links and outcomes I'm collecting, please either make a post or email aven.pt@gmail.com.

michaeld
Blogs and articles These are to be added when we hear about them! But there is a lot of feedback on Twitter: https://twitter.com/hashtag/UKAceCon2020 And everyone is talking about the boat party on Gather, which lasted well past the close of the conference, almost until midnight UK time! Incidentally if anyone would like to check out our Gather venue, it's still open and you can use it to have meetups if you like! You need a laptop or a desktop with Chrome or Firefox installed. https://gather.town/5EZTFwiFqPTyu6w3/AceCon20 (password acecon20) Anyway that's a digression! Any more blogs or articles on the conference will be added here.
michaeld
Events coming up and how to be involved Asexual History Day. We are planning an event on or around 12 October (not officially announced yet) to mark the 20th anniversary of the creation of Haven for the Human Amoeba, the first major online ace community. The event will be far smaller than the UK acecon of course - probably a single livestream - but it should still be fun to hear from people involved in the formation of the ace community. If you'd like to get involved in the planning, or would like to hear more, please email aven.pt@gmail.com or PM me. Next year is WorldPride 2021 planned to be held in Denmark and Sweden during August. If you'd like to be involved in our planning, please email aven.pt@gmail.com. Of course Ace Week is also coming up in October this year! We (AVEN) don't organise this as such, but plan to work closely with the team over there! Incidentally it's the 10th anniversary of Asexual Awareness Week (AAW) aka Ace Week this year. To get involved with ace vis-ed activities, you can join the AVEN media and speaker team by filling in https://goo.gl/forms/A3mry5cZ3Kw22BR33 This is low commitment - we'll simply send out appropriate requests - whether press or speaking requests or other projects - when we get them. Finally to continue discussions on topics covered at the conference - in particular ace vis-ed and ace fiction - please consider joining the AVEN unofficial discord. (Account required to access this page: email aven.pt@gmail.com if you'd like to join but don't have an AVEN account.)
