For me, I like to fry it in a frying pan with a stir fry.

Although I occasionally get rice cakes and also rice krispie too

everywhere and nowhere

I usually boil rice, but I don't like the modern idea of cooking rice in a bag. To me it's not even convenient - hard to touch such a hot and a little sticky bag, hard to remove every single grain from the bag... I don't understand the idea, to me it reduces comfort instead of helping. I still buy such bags because it's cheaper, but in case of grain and veggie mixes I put the contents of the bag in a pot, add other vegetables and cook it, and in case of unmixed rice and other groats I cut all bags in a box open, transfer the grains into a plastic container and later cook as much as I need so that all water gets absorbed.

Rice cookers are super convenient and I love them. They only work well with Japanese rice (or rices close to this in texture), though. It's really no good with a lot of rices, which is pretty normal considering the way Japanese rice has to be cooked when you use a pot is completely different than the way you would cook Basmati or French rice.

I eat a lot of rice(s) and prepare them differently depending on the rice I have and what I'm cooking. So, I use about everything mentionned and other techniques like risotto... except the microwave. I only use the microwave to warm up things which don't do well with oven / pot reheating (which can include rice, though not Japanese rice as  you can eat it cold or make chachagohan by pouring a hot liquid over it to heat it up). I didn't know you could buy rice portionned in 'ready to cook' bags , but that sounds environmentally wasteful and I would be wary of  cooking inside of a bag as it could transfer some unhealthy stuffs to your food. 😅That's just me, though.

Rice and beans with a fried egg on top is great, especially when you add salsa and/or Parmesan cheese.

I'm super lazy, microwave packets for me. 🤪 With boiled veg on the side.

Grumpy Alien

Glutinous/sticky rice or sweet rice pounded into a sort of paste. (Mochi and lo mai chi being delicious examples.)

On back of package, there were no rice cooker instructions.

Is rice cooker not just boiling/steaming it?

Depends on the rice and recipe, rice cooker for plain rice, pot/pan on the stove if toasted/seasoned first. Either way, it ends up steamed.

I didn't know boiling rice was even a thing until recently. Unless you count adding it to soups? I do that sometimes.

If I'm making it myself, I use a rice cooker. But really, I just... like rice, so pretty much any way is good. Except rice krispies. Those things have marshmallow in.

Rice-rice? I so, only in rice cake form! :D (which is also what I voted for)

If cauliflower-rice counts, then that'd definitely trump the rice cakes by a long shot and would've been a vote for microwave from me! =D

Right now I am eating a rice dish my mom taught me to make from when she was little living in poverty. It's white rice, milk, and cinnamon sugar heated up. It's yummy.
