GingerRose
Quote A political thread to discuss anything related to US President Joe Biden. Merged with previous thread focused on the 2020 election. Iam9man PPS Moderator As far as I know right now, I'm going to be voting for Biden. I'm not voting for him because I like him. I feel like I must vote for him because I don't want Trump. Trump's behaviour shows absolute intolerance for people who are not from America, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Muslims Americans, and LGBT+ people. I know Biden isn't perfect and he has some values I am against, but he's the best option there is, either I don't vote and risk Trump winning or I vote for Biden. Anyone feel that they are in the same position? What are you going to do? (*I'm not voting for other parties, because it feels like a wasted vote for libertarian, green, or independent*). Missing
Frankly I don’t think a politician with my actual values and priorities would have any chance of getting elected, so I probably wouldn’t waste my vote on one even if they ran. It’s not really a disappointment that Biden doesn’t represent me as well as I’d like because I haven’t had that expectation of a politician in quite a while now. But there are so many people I’d vote for over Trump, that it’s really not a hard choice at all for me to vote for Biden.

Skycaptain
It seems to be an increasing trend in politics that you're not voting for the best candidate, but the least bad

YES. I was even disappointed when Obama picked Biden as his running mate, but I would still choose Biden in a heartbeat over Trump. No contest.
Guest
It in the end doesn't matter much who you vote for... "Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes its laws." It's basically functioning like an oligarchy...
Mostly Peaceful Ryan
I am waiting for the debates and Biden's choice in running mate to really make my final decision. The biggest worry I have with Biden is he appears to have early stages of Dementia. I know many are writing it off, but when I look at his recent interviews or the democrat debate. He really was performing poorly, that was reflected in the early polling, it was South Carolina voters that saved him. The debates will let me see more of him, and allow me to determine where he is mentally. Putting someone in office that has Dementia doesn't seem reasonable to me. Another worry I have with Biden is he seems to be changing his policies leaning more to the left. I was very much against Warren and Bernie because of the far left nature of their policies. Biden taking up more of Bernie's stance is going to drive myself and other moderate Democrats away. I know people who are life-long democrats never voting for a republican in their life, who told me if it was between Bernie and Trump they would vote Trump. If it comes down to a vote between a far-left "progressive", I will be voting for the republicans. I know enough to know where those ideas lead, and I know I don't want to go down that road. Biden's running mate really matters. I have heard names like Kiesha Bottoms, Kamala Harris, and Stacey Abrams. I'm not a big fan of Harris or Abrams. I will say if he picks Kiesha Bottoms. I will be giving money to Trumps campaign and voting Trump 100%. I am hoping he will be picking someone I have not heard of yet.

Still
All these posts about how people are going to vote for Biden because he's not Trump just highlight how much he sucks. 1 hour ago, Mostly Peaceful Ryan said: I know enough to know where those ideas lead, and I know I don't want to go down that road. Love this type of argument.Yeah when you compare to Stalin and Lenin, maybe he is on the right. That tends to be because the United States is not a communist country. It is a poor argument I don't need to get to the level of Stalin before it gets bad. I tend to not uses these type of charts as they have no scale and really up to the person who creates it. It is not a good gauge, I focus on the policy those two have said. Warren seemed to go more left during the campaign to steal Sanders voters, so I'm not even sure where I would actuallu put her. It depends where in the campaign. 30 minutes ago, pickles mcgee said: Trump's cognitive issues seem much worse. He is so rambly! Totally disagree based on the speeches I have watched and interviews with both candidates so far. But if this is true I am sure we will see Trump's issue in a debate. The countries that are highlighted there I have looked into and I dont want to live in any of them, or a system that works the way they do. I actually find huge flaws in their systems which I don't want to experiance and will not work when applied to the American system. I'm not ill informed on the issues, I disagree with you. I'm talking about anything that comes close to crossing into the left border, and the US screams agony. But hey, you do you. I hate politics. I will never vote, unless it's directly on legislation/actions. Politicians aren't trustworthy to do what they represented.
