Shetland
So, the title really says it all. It's a weird question I know, But I'm curious as to whether it's possible or not. Like, is it possible with modern technology, or is it still something beyond what we're able to do.
Zagadka
I don't think a licensed physician would do that. I've read a lot about transitions, and i've never heard of that kind of modification.
DuranDuranfan
If you have female genitals, first you’d have to take T to increase clitoris size. Metoidioplasty repositions the urethra and lengthens it so that you can pee out your enlarged clitoris. Basically, your clitoris becomes a penis. Usually the labia would also be restructured to form a scrotum for implants to resemble testicles. But this can be optional. I would recommend a hysterectomy so there’s no chance of getting periods. Now, I’m not sure if this is something that is commonly done, but with the right surgeon, anything is possible.
RoseGoesToYale
As in, to become intersex? I know there's surgery to become male or female, but I don't think one can get surgery to become intersex.

Well that would be great if I was a woman, but i'm a guy so I don't know if that logic would work in reverse to some extent or not.
Grey-Ace Ventura
With a female-bodied person I'd imagine so, because it's possible to keep the vagina after having meta or phallo. For a male-bodied person I don't think it's as likely because the penis has to be turned inside out to become a vagina, so there wouldn't really be any penis left... I'm not a surgeon tho
Skycaptain
@Shetland, simple answer, No. You can't have both a penis and vagina, because they both take up the same space in the body. You couldn't even surgically create a vagina between the penis and anus because that's where the internal part of the penis, its root, is
Minty greens
Despite what a lot of people think, yes you can. You have to start with a penis, which is never touched through the procedure. The balls are removed and skin is grafted from the inner-thigh (most likely) to make the labia majora. the vaginal cavity is made as well so the penis is fully functioning (except for ejaculation), and the vagina has full depth, but has no other functions. The vagina can also be constructed from a colon fragment. My friend has had it done because she had a small penis and the typical inversion technique could have left her with a non-functional vagina. More precisely, the vestibulum was done with skin taken from the penis, and of course her clitoris is her former penis glans, but the deeper part of the vagina was created from a colon piece. She said that it used to produce horrible amounts of mucus at first, but since then it calmed down and now her vagina is, if anything, rather too dry. She also said that right after the surgery, her abdomen would hurt more than the crotch area. The same friend also showed me photos of "hermaphrodite porn" - I wouldn't be interested in watching it, but this way I know that, at least in theory, it can be done. These were most likely not real intersex people - particularly since intersex people very rarely actually have both a functional penis (at least reasonably functional) and a functional vagina, intersex is not so much about "having both sets", but rather about having gender characteristics which are intermediate or "umatched" on some level(s) (genital, hormonal, chromosomal...). The people in those photos were probably AMAB individuals who had a vagina constructed while keeping the penis, and usually with removal of testicles. Same as @Zagadka, I doubt if a legitimate surgeon would perform that, but those photos prove that there is at least a black market for this kind of surgery. (After all, there is also a black market for castration - there are guys who want to have it done, sometimes even fully cisgender and allosexual guys who prefer to "control their sexuality instead of being controlled by it".) But it's just too dangerous, there's a reason why normal surgeons don't do it. I would definitely discourage anyone from doing it.

Oh okay. Usually I look at a persons profile info to get an idea of their birth sex. My bad.
