Grumpy Alien
Tell me everything you like! I’ve been trying to find other forums for ages but keep running into the same problem: I don’t really have any interests or passions. Which leads me to wonder what sort of stuff is out there that I’m missing out on! Tell about the stuff you like. What are you really into right now? Show me pictures. Give me ideas. Guest
(Learning to) play the violin. You could obviously pick whatever instrument you like. Growing things from seeds, tending to them. Painting/drawing. Yoga, meditation, running, other sorts of exercise. I'm growing my hair long, like long long, so updos. Different sorts of braids and buns, and ofc tools to keep them up, forks and sticks. There's so much one could get into.
Sniveon
Watching movies as a case study, my favorite directors and their movies are: -Wong Kar Wai (In the Mood for Love, Chungking Express) -David Lynch (Mullholnad Drive, Twin Peaks) -Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men) -Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Casino) -Michael Haneke (Funny Games, The Piano Teacher) I am also really into writing right now, I've been planning a short film and a web-series but they are just in early stages. Aside from that I am into reading ( favorite books: Tokyo Blues/Norwegian Wood and The Un bearable Lightness of Being) and music (I am currently listening to a lot of LP). argar
I love anything with good/interesting story telling behind it. I enjoy both the medium of anime and manga. I enjoy reading/seeing storytelling and animated/non animated moving pictures and static pictures. I also enjoy a good old fashion american graphic novel as well. Although I do love the superhero genre, there are other graphic novels that don't involve that. Chew is awesome! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chew_(comics) Aside from anime and manga, I am also enjoying Japanese light novels. Which is Japanese storytelling minus any pictures and just text. So far this one is my favorite: https://www.lightnovelworld.com/novel/night-ranger I enjoy Live Action Role Play, but my enjoyment lays in getting to dress up and foam stabbing people. I can't really claim to role play all that much. I have also gotten back into Magic: The Gathering. This is my favorite card at the moment: Flensermite!
everywhere and nowhere
OK, so maybe of the less common ones - although, in fact, I haven't had any opportunity to practice it for years (my mom doesn't share my passion, all the close ones are already visited and I can't drive and will never drive): CLIMBING SKI JUMPING HILLS! The whole "process" includes climbing (or, if it's possible - but it's only possible in case of larger, better-known hills which are official tourist attractions - using the elevator / chair lift) and also taking photographs. A few photos of mine are displayed at the Ski Jumping Hill Archive, so let me show just some photos of the hills I have personally visited. Jämsänkoski, Finland: Poronin, Poland*: Oslo (Hemingkneika, although I'm used to calling it Gråkammen, from the closest metro station): *Fun fact about the village: "legend has it" that Lenin, before he gained power in Russia, lived as an exiled revolutionary abroad - and spent several months in Poronin. In fact, it's not exactly true - Lenin indeed spent some time in the Tatra mountains, but he lived in the smaller village of Biały Dunajec and only rode a bike to Poronin to pick up mail from the post office. But when Soviet Union grabbed Poland into its "sphere of influence", Poronin was celebrated as a place where Lenin supposedly used to live. Some clever shepherd went to the local committee of the communist party, testified that Lenin supposedly used to live in his house when he was still a young boy, and so the Lenin Museum was created in that cottage. Another funny addition: an authentic denunciation from around 1952. Yes, communists really reacted to any criticism like that: To the District Office of Public Security in Nowy Targ. Today an act of hostile activity was done in our museum. Unknown delinquents wrote in the guestbook that the exhibition is boring and the walls are asking for a paintbrush and a bucket of paint. I wanted to explain that the last sentence is a lie, because walls in the Lenin Museum are made of natural wood and don't require paint.

How did you find such a hobby? I like the sport (in the UK it's indeed not particularly popular, but by the way - the movie "Eddie the Eagle", about the British ski jumper Eddie Edwards, was really fun) and I wanted to lood at a jumping hill from an athlete's point of view. And so I started climbing them. In fact, there even used to be a ski jumping hill in Warsaw, a few kilometers from my home (about 15 minutes with the metro, 20 minutes with the bus, 30 minutes cycling). But I only actually managed to climb it in 2005, it was my 101st hill. I was one of the last people who have been to the top of Skarpa, or maybe even the last one before the demolition crew. Starbogen
My hobbies are drawing and writing but I hadn't done either for months cause my tablet died so I couldn't draw digitally, and I couldn't find the motivation to do it traditionally, or to write. But recently I started doing some drawings with pastels.. (Joker is my current art muse it seems) Like this Spoiler And more recently I've also started drawing on my phone because I was desperate to be able to draw digitally again so I'm trying to adapt X'D This took me like four times as long as it normally would have though so hopefully I can get a touchpen soon Spoiler

I absolutely love art and it’s something I wish I could do but I’m not very creative nor do I have a natural skill. But yeah, I tend to never look at anyone’s art online because I feel the need to encourage people but at the same time I’m sitting there thinking “Well it needs a lot of work.” I’m glad I looked under spoilers though because WOW. Samaro
I learned to crochet from my mom. It isn’t very difficult depending on the pattern you pick. Be careful of the size hook and what kind of yarn you’re using, though. I prefer using soft, sort of fuzzy yarn, but it is harder to undo since it gets caught on itself. Larger crochet hooks make the pattern more loose and allow the yarn to keep its softness, but may make some patterns look sloppy. Multicolored yarns don’t need as complicated of patterns since they provide interest with their own variations. Single colored yarn (at least in my opinion) could use some help in that area, though one might mix yarns to fix that. The type of yarn also depends on what you want to make with it. I use soft yarns because I make scarves, shawls, or blankets. Things that are for decoration around the house and not being touched by people needn’t be like that.

Guest
I really like sewing because it means being able to make things exactly how you want them to be. I'm really particular about how I want things to look and most of the clothing out there for women just doesn't really suit me. Also, when you know how to sew there is so much you can make; I look forward to making my own curtains and things like that once I get a place to myself. Visual art is also fun. I'm not that skilled at drawing or painting, so I make collages with photos and artwork done by others.

Anthracite_Impreza
Driving, especially up in the moors 💕🚗 Car shows; I don't go often (cos no monies) but when I do... I just feel like I'm at home. Modified cars are my soul vehicles and the culture is My Scene. Plus, the smell of petrol, diesel and burnt tyres is fucking heaven, and drifting is a massive rush I swear to god. Choo-chooing; which is also driving, but with added fireman duties, shovelling coal and cleaning The Pit (yes I consider these things fun, especially when the jet washer comes out ) Gaming; for me it's sim games. I'm obsessed with them. I spend thousands of hours a year on them, no exaggeration. RPing; quite honestly the amount of time and energy I dedicate to thinking about and planning RPs would be considered unhealthy to "normal" humans, but I'm autistic so idc 🙃 My characters mean more to me than my bio family.
