Sounds like he's the one that actually need to be cured.

Some people believe homosexuality can be cured. I guess if you use enough drugs, you can accomplish anything, but the destructive cost is very high. I don't know why people are in a rush to be miserable.

Asexuality is an orientation, not a disease, ergo a) there is no need to treat it, and b) there is no treatment.

However there are a multitude of circumstances which can be classified as disorders of sexual desire, which may be treated. It's one of the oldest chestnuts about asexuality that people say that someone who identifies as Asexual may have this or that condition

Sounds like a creep tactic to me.  Either press for genuine formal credentials or leave this be.  This tactic I’ve seen before in other communities.

Definitely a creep tactic, one among many!

like if he was this qualified in this sphere, how didn't he know the concept of asexuality

Yet he knows how to cure the unknown medical condition? So he's a psychic/magician, too?

Would you trust a mechanic asking you what a brake pad was?

Sounds like dude went to the "upstairs medical college". You have to watch the Simpsons to get this one. Totally worth it.

He is clearly getting his rocks off. You're to call him every time you watch porn?

Send him pictures and video as proof, is next because of course he won't believe you.

He is no therapist. You being in a developing country doesn't make what he's doing any less illegal.

He is seeking money for therapy he isn't giving you.

If he's doing it for free, makes it even worse o_O

Seriously. There is no cure for asexuality. None.

You can't cure gay. You can't cure skin color. Culture.

These are part of who you are.

You can experiment sexually based on your comfort levels. You can be in a relationship with a sexual, and have a fulfilling relationship as long as communication is had.

You can lead a sex free life and be healthy.

These are all things you can find out on your own, minus the creepy "doctor".

What do you have to lose?

Uh, money, time and finding out dude is rubbing one out every time you call him as advised and realizing you can't unhear or unsee any of it.

I know BS when I see it, and he is off the charts. Heck he took the chart and shitted on them.

Even more. He rather seems like a sexual predator looking for a victim.

@Blin It sounds like this guy is trying to use you. I would cut contact. His actions don't seem legitimate, and he seems like a quack. I would go as far as to say that he is dangerous.

Agreed. Not sure how old the poster is, but this is a bad situation. Law enforcement needs to know about this guy.

Sounds like he was using you. I'm so sorry what you went through.

I don't talk about my asexuality in person for this reason,  I'll never watch and never have watched porn, nor will I ever touch down there. I never went through anything to make me who I am today,  but I'll never get into a physical romantic relationship or sexual relationship and or marry anyone. Society is too wrapped up on both topics to see that there's individuals who are different.

Continue working on yourself,  continue to heal. If you haven't yet block the guy's number and social media accounts so he can't contact you.

I haven't read all the comments but no, my asexuality is not an illness and doesn't need a cure. I'm very happy being asexual and tough if the world thinks it should be cured and I should be forced into being like 'everyone else'. It's not going to happen. This sounds very much like a cure for being gay, methods and all. It's up to you and there seems to be a lot of background but if it were me I would run.

However, if the past you mentioned traumatised you (very separate from being asexual) then you could look for someone to help you. Whether this person is it is another matter. If nothing else, look for validation of his credentials as a sexologist and psychologist. Him even intending to 'cure' asexuality would make me very distrusting and likely to run a mile.

My two pence worth.

Guys, thank you all🥰 This guy just disappeared from my life.

Now, I want to talk to you about something else.

I'm starting a relationship, where everything is clear and known for him. I told him even the things of slightest importance. I'm quite afraid, it's not gonna work, but he seems to be understanding, it's just it seems unfair to me, it's like i'm using him to realise whether i can be in a relationship, i like him but not 'love', maybe it will come with time. I should try, do you agree??

And that creep was a real, certified psychologist?! :o

Although... the medical and psychological professions are not immune to perversions and just Low Professional Ethics. Below there are two examples of Polish sexologists - fortunately, nothing first-hand, I have never visited a sexologist because I don't consider my sexuality problematic.

[And, by the way, hiding the text is done with the eye icon. On the bar you have, from the left: bold font, italic, underline, strikethrough, remove formatting, link, quote - and the 8th is "spoiler" (although, I actually don't like this word, and here it's rather used for "TW" anyway. I dislike the word "spoiler" even more because lazy Polish people have borrowed it directly into Polish - and I'm a linguistic purist, I really dislike overuse of anglicisms and just linguistic laziness and sloppiness. I never use the word "spoiler" in Polish when for example writing about adventure games, I instead write things like "to avoid forestalling events...").]

  Reveal hidden contents

Case 1: Dr. L. is not just a general sexologist, but also a diagnost of trangender people - and people seeking gender reassignment need a certificate from a sexologist to begin the legal procedure. I'm not trans myself, but I have trans friends, so I know a bit about the situation. There are not very many diagnosts for trans people in Poland, but in Warsaw there were even three, at least a few years ago, when my friend Isabelle was starting the procedure. Dr. D. is considered very greedy. Dr. Cz. and his team (later, for reasons I will decribed above, he was suspended and his assistant, Dr. J. was the main diagnost) are refunded, but they expect a 1,5-year "real life test" without HRT!! (My friend was very lucky to have relatively slow puberty, at 18 she was still fairly short, had little facial hair... She probably would have had much worse conditions after 1,5 years without HRT.) So Dr. L. is probably chosen most often. However, he is a particularly unpleasant case for FTM people, because he insists of taking photographs of their intimate area - "for documentation", he claims. 🤢 (While I don't like "acronymania", let me propose a new acronym. MMWP - Makes Me Wanna Puke.)

Case 2: Dr. Cz. ("cz" is pronouned like "ch" in "check", for example), as I wrote, also diagnoses trans people, but the case for which he was suspended was an ordinary female patient with some problems - I don't know what kind, but what happened was widely publicised. He supposedly told her to sit in the kind of chair for you know what kind of intimacy-trampling examination (sorry, that'd my view, as you know, I'm extremely nudity-averse and I anyway believe that the right to leave out the medical procedures one chooses is a part of bodily autonomy), to relax, and when she was unsuspecting... he inserted a vibrator into her!!!!  Obviously, she was shocked and she sued him for rape. I'm not sure how it all ended, but it's disgusting how some people believe that "therapy" and their status as medical professionals excuses anything.

This is just OUTRAGEOUS.

I don't even use the F word and I would never allow anyone to use such words to me.

You really have to avoid this creep.  Whether he's a real shrink or not, he sounds weird.  Get the hell away from him.

This.

There's also strokes, hard hit in the head. Sexuality is linked to brain setup. However, there's no guarantees and effective answer to the question. Self-acceptance will always be better even if they find how to manipulate the brain to such a extent.

Run. Run. RUN.

This guy knows NOTHING about what he's talking about. Doctor?? Yeah, Dr. Dre more like.

I bet he wasn't even listening to a word you said. He's just another horny dude who wants to use you and thinks he can "change" you.

He knows nothing about actual sexual science.

FIRST OFF, aces can masturbate and like masturbation. Libido and functioning human organs are NOT the same as ATTRACTION.

SECONDLY, aces can watch porn and even enjoy it. Just like you can watch an action movie and not want to be in a fight for your life, you can enjoy entertainment without wanting to be in that situation or, again, be ATTRACTED to any of the participants.

If you get horny, it does NOT mean you're not ace. Unless you specifically look at another human being's body and say "I want to have sex with them and touch them," you have nothing to worry about.

This guy isn't just a pervert and a creep, he's a downright fraud and from the sounds of it, a horny aphobe who wants to use you.

Do like our mascot Doctor Who and RUN. RUN. RUN.

*mic drop*

Definitely try, I mean trying is the only way to discover what's possible and what's not. If you didn't try, you'd never know if you could. :)

@IvonRac, good for you that seeing an appropriate professional and getting the correct treatment programme has instilled some form of desire or attraction in you.

However, with the greatest of respect, you haven't been treated of asexuality. Just the same as therapy can't make someone who is gay heterosexual and vice-versa. What you have been treated for is some form of "disorder of sexual desire".

Yes, I think it can be cured. I used to be asexual, but in the last 6 months I started feeling sexual attraction. I have seen a sex therapist, and it really helped

No, asexuality cannot be cured because it's not a disorder.
