Tangential correction. All pairs are an equal mix of both parents, one from each, with the exception of X & Y in people with that chromosome combination.

 

Recombination occurs during gamete formation; the chromosome received from a given parent is a mix of their own two chromosomes (ie a mix of the grandparents).
