Alone

I know I posted this on the 30 somethings thread. I feel alone more often than I was younger. I really don't want anyone in my life not attracted. Although, I having someone to talk to and be open with would be nice. It feels like everyone has married had kids and are into their lives. Not sure what to do.

Know what you mean -  I'm in my 30s and it does seem from social media in particular that everyone is married with kids. Have you got any hobbies? At the moment my main two hobbies - music and sea swimming are helping to stop me feeling alone as a long term singleton although the majority of people I am hanging out with are not in my age group, they either haven't had children yet or had them long ago. Meetup does have loads of groups where I am, a friend who is single with no kids who moved to the area relatively recently has built up a whole social community from that.

Hey,

Yes I am with you.  I am gay and in my 30's and been single for about six years and I feel pretty lonely sometimes too.  Most of my friends are married with children or in long term relationships.  It's pretty depressing at times but I try and fill my time with doing things that I love and am passionate about which quite often you don't have time for when you are in a relationship. I have also started connecting with my local lgbtq+ community which has helped a bit although it's early days and I haven't met anyone yet that I can really open up with yet.   Is there an asexual community near you that you might be able to link in with at all?  I'm betting that there will be lots of other people in a similar situation to you.

Try to socialize online. Online friends can be just as supportive. If you want to socialize with other folks here, check out this thread. You could make a post there :)

I think socialising online is very helpful but I also think we humans need face to face contact with other humans.

It can take time to find and make friends but it sounds to me that this is what you are really seeking right now.
