Chemical Castration for a young Male

I’m a 29 years old man living in Lahore, Pakistan. I’m just a regular straight person who finds sexual attraction in opposite gender. I started masturbation in early age; I used to masturbate several times a day which has now been reduced to once in a day or two. I can even survive without masturbation for several days but still feel urge to do so whenever I can, at least once a day and when I unable to fall asleep at night during the first few minutes. However, I never had sex with any woman in my entire life.
Now you may start thinking why a straight man would join an Ace forum, he should find a female partner and get married. It may sound reasonable but this is where the problem begins. I have decided to stay single forever for several different reasons. Firstly, I have some mental health issues including anxiety (generalized & social), depression and multiple phobias. I don’t have a stable job with reasonable salary and I simply can’t afford to start a family. I’m physically weak, underweight and a coward person, why any woman would ever like to choose such a weak husband who can’t protect his family? Also, I belong to a minority; an atheist in a 96% Muslim majority nation. I feel oppressed in society and so would be my children even if I’m able to resolve all other issues (which is next to impossible though).

All this favors me to never get married or even have a girlfriend. So why should I keep masturbating even if I have to do it once in a week? I’ve recently learned about castration; a procedure to make animals as well as humans sterile to completely lose sexual desire. Surgical castration seems too horrible and certainly not suitable for a person who’s so scared of surgeries. But they say chemical castration also works well and it’s being used in some countries to neutralize rapist criminals. Though I never had assaulted or even thought about molesting a woman, but I still don’t like having to masturbate and awkward early morning erection.

Now I just want to know the answers of the following questions:

Are there any severe side effects of chemical castration in young males of my age with no serious illness history?

Which doctor can prescribe me such treatment?

Is seeing a sexologist the right choice?

Can I visit Thailand for this kind of ‘treatment’ as it may not be possible in Pakistan? How much would this cost?

Sorry if you find it irrelevant or weird but I’m really serious in going for voluntary castration. It’d give me peace of mind, may also help to improve my mental health
issues. Thanks in advance!

You should look for an actual doctor to discuss this with, rather than a bunch of random internet strangers. There's no way anyone can provide useful information without never even having met you.

I hope you find a professional to discuss this with. The internet is definitely not the place where you want to seek advice on medical issues.

That's the problem, I also have social anxiety. Once I tried to ask a doctor about this but I had panic attack and left the clinic without even saying a word. I think doctor will treat me like I'm a crazy person.

And yes, I know that self medication is a bad idea that's why I'm asking the members for guidance to take the first step. Some people believe that I have lost my mind and all I need is psychological counselling but I don't seem to agree with them. Counselling can't change me, I have some mental health issues which are hard to treat.

If you can't talk to them, make notes.

I'm not an expert, so these are my opinions (rather than answers) - the best advice would be to seek professional advice, as has been said.

  • Side effects? = such a procedure would affect your testosterone levels significantly, which if left unchecked (i.e.: without being prescribed suitable hormone replacement treatment) would likely result in serious physical and psychological problems in the long term.
  • Which doctor? = it is highly unlikely that you would find a professional (as opposed to someone shady operating outside of the law!) that would be willing to assist. Castration (physical and chemical) of humans is generally considered illegal, even if you had years of medically approved psychology results that ruled out all other options to resolve your feelings.
  • Sexologist? = it might help to talk to someone, but only if you're comfortable doing so. Probably your best option, if I'm being honest.
  • Thailand? = sexual reassignment practitioners are apparently commonplace there, but you'd have to consider the points I made about doctors above (they mightn't want to do anything to you for legal reasons etc.). Additionally, you have to consider that a 'visit' probably wouldn't be enough to resolve the matter - you'd likely have to have several consultations before any procedure could take place, and if any procedure did occur then you'd have to think about which (if any) doctors inside Pakistan would be able / willing to assist you further during your extended recovery period, and provide ongoing assistance in the future with potential hormone issues etc.
  • Cost? = I have no figures, but all of this would be VERY expensive. You say that you can't afford a family - I'd guess that if you had to pay for the procedure, you'd find that the costs wouldn't be that different in the long run.

Apologies for being a bit of a downer @Hurr Naqvi - I hope that you manage to get everything sorted out whatever happens.

Castration (surgical or chemical) may not totally remove any sexual desires, libido, or erections. It may also mean that if you do find someone you like, and want to have children with in the future, you won't be able to. Castration can also lead to a whole host of problems including osteoporosis due to the lack of testosterone. Generally it wouldn't be recommended unless there was a medical necessity.

We can't help you.  This is an internet forum for asexuals.  Do NOT take seriously anything that is said about medical issues on an internet forum.  Do whatever it takes for you to be able to see a doctor; we are not doctors.

I am not saying that you are a sex addict, but folk that are addicted to sex, but have given up masturbation will be able to tell you how to lower your libido without chemical castration. This article provides some ideas. Meditation and hypnosis can also be helpful

Shouldn't you join a mental health or medical forum then? Not sure what AVEN can do for you.

I already have joined an international forum for mental health support. I'm going to post this thing there as well as soon as I get approval to post new threads. Thanks for a nice suggestion!

Who says that you ain't an expert? This in fact is the best answer so far and helps me get a clearer picture of what I was looking for. It's also going to help others who might be considering to go for voluntary castration.

Well, being illegal shouldn't be any problem. Doctors of countries like Pakistan can take someone's life or make forged medical documents for money, why won't they do it when someone voluntarily present himself to carry out a controversial procedure? But the question is, can they do it? Do they have enough information to successfully and safely do this treatment?

Taking supplements also bothers me as I'm a kind of medicine phobic, I hate to take my psyc meds too. Last, but not least, the cost! This could be a big issue, I heard that some doctor in Bangkok was performing surgical castration under $ 1000 a few years ago. Medical facilities are relatively cheaper in Thailand but I can hardly afford a week long trip, so I need to save more money before even I consider having to consult with a physician. (And law is also like a joke in Thailand, there has been reports of illegal human organ trade in this country. Voluntary castration won't alert the local police)

I won't have children forever, I have decided to live alone without any partner. I rarely reverse (and regret) the decisions I take. The first time I thought about castration was about an year ago, and now I'm trying to find the answers I was unable to find on internet before. I may finally go for it some time later whenever it becomes feasible for me.

If I can add, please only seek advice from qualified medical professionals. On this website, as well as on other websites and forums, there are many 'keyboard' medical people and claimed scientists, please don't listen to a word they say. Go to a real porfessional.

On the internet any one can pretend to be any one!

Thank you! I know that, I post my problems on internet to find way to take the first step. Like in this case I never knew so many things about castration before some intelligent members just told me. I always thought castration like walking into dentist's clinic who will pull your tooth out and you'd be good to go within the following few hours.

Thanks once again for your valuable advice!

Hey bro. I'm from Pakistan too. You are over thinking a lot. Life is not about finding a mate and "protecting the progeny". You don't have to be strong for anyone but yourself. First do everything for yourself and work your way to being a better version of yourself. Eat healthy, exercise, meditate, learn a new skill, journal, talk to others, pet an animal. If you want to jerk off, do it and don't over think about it. It's natural and keep indulging more into nature. You're an atheist in our country? Not a big deal. No one has the right to rub religion or irreligion on others' face. The society expects you to work 9-5 and then practice atheism or watch porn, no one would care as long as it's behind closed doors. Be thankful each day for something. Love yourself!

I do not know if you are still following this thread.. Castration does have some side effects the worst is that feminization takes place. You will start to adapt female qualities. You will grow breasts and begin to look more feminine. Not a good choice in my opinion. If you are really looking for a way to stop masturbating you should look into anaphrodisiacs. I myself wanted to stop masturbating and began taking Vitex (Chaste Tree) Monks in ancient times would take it to help them suppress sexual desires. I take 3 pills of 410mg twice a day. It took for me 3 months to take effect. I would suggest looking into something like that. Castration has a lot of downsides.. You might end up needing Testosterone injections from a depression side effect as well. Not a good way to go trust me.

I understand your story... To be honest ... sexuality can be a burden.. For me it was anyway... since very young age i had a terribly high sexdrive....i get married... and soon found out my wife was asexual. I have to tell you that i truly love her .. but loving an asexual wife and not being able to have sex is very difficult. so we both decided to try depo provera first.. and it worked very well.. Now we are thinking about surgery. If you want to hear more please let me know..
