Packing foam, actually. Or peanuts. So I went with that.

Packing peanuts

Fun fact: The type on the left is technically edible. They're made of flavorless potato starch. Incidentally, they taste like nothing.

I've never seen them in person but I just call them "peanuts" because of the movie "Bolt".

Yup. As a matter of fact, my sister and I used to snack on them when we were little. We thought they tasted like cheetohs.

There's the biodegradable kind- they're made of cornstarch, and you can eat them.  They taste like chapatti, a bit.

A lot of companies use the edible kind that dissolve in water now.

"Styrofoam thingies". Very precise, I know. They're not necessarily even made out of styrofoam, I think they're made out of another foam material - not that I'm an expert.

I call them "packing peanuts" (not just "peanuts", needs the full two words), so I voted other.

We have it a lot in my factory from all the suppliers that deliver parts for us, and we always call these "popcorn" because of how fluffy they are :D sometimes, we might call them "cheetos" for the same reason.

I have never heard any of the other names, though. 🤔

I'm not sure how it went in the original, but anyway I like (some) children's films and have the film "Over the Hedge" on DVD (in Polish). If you don't turn it off during the credits, there are some dialogues in the background, for example something like:

Quote

[Some animal says that something is so bad that styrofoam would be better to eat.]

[Hammy the hyperactive squirrel]: - I have eaten styrofoam. Tastes like styrofoam.

I'm not sure how it's in English, but in Polish "tastes like styrofoam" is understood as something having more or less no taste.

I can’t see the pic, but good to know, as I assume they’re the type I used to eat as a child.

Also I really want to eat some now.
