Tanwen
UNESCO World Heritage Status is awarded to areas considered to be important for the whole of humanity and protected by international treaties. You probably haven't heard of Jodrell Bank (Cheshire, England) but it was the largest radio telescope at the time it was built and has helped expand man's knowledge of the universe. It tracked every launch of both the USA and USSR rockets - but was concentrating on the Russian effort to reach the moon launched at the same time as Apollo 11 - it crashed rather than making a soft landing. Perhaps the Parkes Radio Telescope in Australia should also be considered - had it not been in the right place at the right time - we'd have missed the moon landing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-48893080
