Echø
Hello. I'm curious.. if you identify as fictiosexual/fictioromantic, can you still be (for example) biromantic and fall for real humans too? or is it ONLY fictio* and if you are,you can't/won't fall in love with real humans? letusdeleteouraccounts
I think ficto is a term coined for people who are basically aromantic or asexual but are conflicted with the label due to their attraction to fictional characters
Madao
The answer to this question can be known to yourself alone. Do you still feel romantically attracted to actual humans? If no, then it's something which still lies on aromantic spectrum. I consider fictoromantic or fictosexual who strictly sticks to fiction. Though, opinions might differ. CelesteAdAstra
I am mostly fictoromantic. "Mostly" because I can also fall in love with real-life humans, it just happens a lot less frequently and the feeling isn't as intense. But yes, I can fall in love with "actual" people. This may be different for every fictoromantic/-sexual, e.g. for those who only fall for cartoon characters. They most likely won't find someone of their type out in the real world. But I, in my case, am only attracted to realistic characters from live action movies/shows or books. My type can also exist in real life, although I haven't found anyone completely to my liking so far. Let me put it like this: I'm a weird kind of person that has sees the world in an unusual way, and I only fall for characters I can relate to on some level (aren't most of us doing this?). I have found someone in fiction who sees the world as I do and I love him dearly. If he existed in real life? I'd be all the happier for it and it would lift some weight off my shoulders, but alas, it is not to be. Oh, and by the way, I would never call myself aromantic. It's actually quite the opposite of what I am. I'm the most romantic person I have ever met 😂 Being in love has always been a big part of my life, and I have pages and pages of love-stricken diary entries to prove it 😅 I develop crushes that are so intense that I'll be on top of the world in one minute, and down in the dumps in the next. Whenever I see my love, all the butterflies of the world assemble in my tummy and wreak havoc.
