i'm confused ( & need a little help? )

Recommended Posts

ok,

so i've been wondering if i was asexual for a while now. i just now decided i could probably ask some other people for help. i'll explain myself and you can just take a guess; tell me what you think i am. i'll look into it. maybe i'll get things figured out.

- so i like kissing and stuff. i want to kiss someone. i don't know if that means i'm not asexual.

- i'm a virgin and i avoid losing my virginity, but i am a little curious about sex and why people like it.

- every time someone is a little sexual with me, i'm a little uncomfortable or nervous.

- i do like people. but i don't want to have sex with them...? i don't know.

- i watch porn, sometimes i don't really like it. well, most of the time. i just don't really think it's uhhh you know something that gets me off i guess.

- i also have fetishes. like, whips and stuff.

It sound like you could be asexual. Many asexual people enjoy kissing and thing like that. Many of them also enjoy having sex. It's just not somethings they crave. The definition of asexual is not experiencing sexual attraction. So you say if you like a person, think their pretty and stuff, but don't want to have sex with them, you are probably asexual.

There can be a lot of possibilities; you can be asexual or sexual, depending on many things. Besides, how traditional sexual populations define sex can play a role too. You may do an asexuality identification scale (AIS) test to find out more; you can find it or a literature (Yule, M. A., Brotto, L. A., & Gorzalka, B. B., 2014having it as an appendix on Google. Hope this helps!

A belated welcome to AVEN!

You could be Asexual.

Asexuality is not a lack of libido, but a lack of Sexual Attraction, which I define as leading to the desire to have sex with someone.

But there are other types of attraction besides Sexual Attraction.
What you describe sounds like Sensual Attraction, which I define as leading to the desire to have intimate non-sexual physical contact with someone, like kissing or cuddling.

Incidentally, it is a tradition here to welcome new members by offering cake, and here's a Cheese Board Cake,

That is one of the cutest things I've ever seen

Agreed.

It's a super useful chart and it pops up on here quite often, especially on member introduction threads.

I honestly think distinguishing these is a great thing and should be common knowledge.
