So much confusion I have. I’m 17 so I guess I can’t fill this out. Ig neither can someone who’s bi/panromantic.  You also only asked about demi which is only but one type of graysexual. Convenience sampling with such a small expected sample size is also a very poor way of measuring a conclusion

Thanks for your reply. I have made some changes to the poll based on your suggestions. I hope it helps.

I am open to positive criticism, so feel free to offer more suggestions to make this poll truly informational.

FYI, this is a fun poll, so chill with the scientific rigour !!!! 😉

Why only male bodied, since there are no genitalia related questions?

(Reads question no. 1) And welcome to the transphobic side of AVEN. Why not? Just saw a giant racist last night.

Congratulations, poll maker, on joining all the extra-scum bigots who say "oppression against MY class is wrong, but really fun to do to the next person further down the ladder." I truly believe there is a special place in metaphorical 'Hell' for people like that.

I think he was talking about the sex rather than gender because of how our natural hormones affects us and the higher sex drives found within the population of people that are male by sex compared to people who are female by sex

Steady on, without knowing the OP I wouldn't go that far. I have faith that the OP didn't mean to be transphobic, but is either uninformed or looking for something in particular that has not yet been said.

Quite possibly, hence why I asked. In that case 'assigned male at birth' would be a better term to use.

I have a genuine question. If a trans man is on T, would he count as male bodied? I'd have assumed yes before reading the last few comments.

Because trans men are men but do not seem to be included in the original question, that's why.

I was honestly expecting a question on porn and masturbation to be in the poll (becuase it seems like every other male in my school is addicted to both).

1. Yeah I’m biologically male.

2. Likely aromantic

3. N/A

4. Virgin; never kissed and haven’t even held hands or hugged someone in a romantic fashion

5. 25

6. No experience at all

7. Nope

8. No

9. If I turn out to be romantic, I don’t really have any hypothetical problem with being in a relationship with a sexual person. Sex isn’t inherently gross to me, though I have no particular interest in it. If things remain fairly vanilla, it wouldn’t be unbearable. I’m just absolutely not up to do really disturbing **** that involves pain, human waste, etc. It’s just that it’s unlikely for any relationship of that sort to develop.

Also, please chill with the accusations. Unless the OP has displayed a negative attitude before, I highly doubt they’re attacking trans individuals. I’d hate to see the thread derailed and locked due to a potential misunderstanding. And, it’s a survey; if one feels they are within the subsection of the population being surveyed, they can answer. If not, they don’t have to. Technically, it can just be aimed at people who were born biologically male (and I’m not claiming it is or isn’t) and that’s fine as long as there’s no malicious intent. So please avoid jumping to conclusions that can’t necessarily be drawn in this instance.

You know whats worse than racists and transphobia ? People like you who have an unnecessary over-the-top reaction to internet posts and make unfounded accusations about total strangers.

At first, I didn't want to dignify you with a response, but on second thoughts, i need to give you a piece of my mind.

Firstly, trans people were not included because I don't have much exposure to trans people and their issues and it didn't cross my mind to include them. If you had a problem with that, all you needed to do was make a polite suggestion. I would have obliged you and made changes to my poll. Instead, you start with juvenile name calling and unwarranted ranting.

You have no right to accuse me of transphobia, given that I have not said anything offensive about trans people. You need to grow the hell up and understand the difference between ignorance and discrimination.

You also don't have the right to call me a scum or a bigot. I will be reporting you.

I know people like you get a high from making noise and sparking off controversies, but please take your BS elsewhere. I want this thread to be positive and insightful, not filled with hate and insults.

What do trans issues have to do with this thread? why do trans issues always have to be brought up?

This.  Jeez, people.

Anyway:

1) Male-bodied, yes, but technically agender.  I typically get called male because I'm male sexed, but I don't really care.  (I voted yes)

2) Demiromantic.  Technically could be argued to be panromantic because I'm actually married to someone that's at least somewhat trans male, but I originally knew this person as female and I still only would ever develop attractions to people that I perceived as female.  (I voted romantic)

3) Heteroromantic

4) Some experience

5) 33 y/o

6) Married

7) No regrets
Eight) Idk, I still debate that one myself.  I'm generally ace, but there are aspects of my relationship where I wouldn't fault someone for potentially thinking I was demi or something.  (I still voted no, pending further investigation)

9) If they still respect me, sure, why not.  My spouse is ace, though

10) No.  Doesn't work for me without the proper partnered stimulus anyway, at which point it arguably isn't even masturbation anymore

A gentle reminder to be nice, the OP has  amended the poll to avoid confusion, lets drop it and have fun with poll shall we?

Answering 7 was kind of difficult.

I'd probably put "Sometimes".

I feel like being Ace makes it far easier to trust my feelings towards women. I can still get attached and do silly things, but I can trust that there is a sensible/relatively safe emotion behind it, not just trying to get laid. Feeling like I can trust myself on this score matters to me a lot.

That said, being romantic, and lacking the sort of... emotional charge that people associate with sex makes STARTING romantic relationships very difficult, and very rare... and often makes it hard to interact with people (friends or partners), because there's just sort of... a language barrier.

1) I'm AFAB, but medically and legally recognized as male because of my transition.

2) Aromantic

3) N/A

4) Never had sex, and the only kissing I ever tried was chaste kissing (no tongue). Now that 99% of my dysphoria is gone, I've become a huge fan of platonic affection though.

5) I'm 25 at the moment.

6) No, but I am increasingly open to the possibility of pursuing a platonic partnership someday

7) No; it's kind of hard to regret something that's neither decision nor an action.

8): Pretty sure I'm just ace. Transition has admittedly made that a little less clear, but even then, I would still call myself ace at the moment.

9) I don't think I'd be open to romantic relationships with anyone, but for platonic partnerships, I'm not really concerned about orientation so much as I am clearly-communicated expectations and boundaries.

10) Yep, though that was something I had not tried until I was 23 years old and approximately 8 months on testosterone. (I didn't get that infamous libido spike most trans folks taking testosterone experience in the first few months of hormone therapy). Honestly, it's kind of a gender-affirmation/body exploration thing for me. While it's kind of routine at this point, I appreciate being able to explore these aspects of myself that I was never able to prior to transition.

Erm. This poll is going to tell you absolutely nothing since there's no "N/A, I'm not a man" option on all the questions following the first one.

I figured non-ace non-men weren’t supposed to take it.

Well, same. But then why bother asking that question ("Are you male?") in the first place?
