Nutt Posted March 16, 2019 Share Posted March 16, 2019 I have only told my mother about my Asexuality but while talking to my parents about antidepressants my mother made a point of saying “maybe you should stop taking those because they can result in zero sex drive” (my father had taken them before). I haven’t really discussed my sexuality with her since the initial 10 minute conversation, but this hurt me for some reason. Has anyone ever heard this? It is true that antidepressants can lower libido, make it harder to orgasm, etc. However, if you weren't experiencing sexual attraction prior to going on the antidepressants, then the antidepressants aren't the reason why you're identifying as asexual.
