@BlitĀ You're going to find this hard to believe, but I've had someone ask me the size of my dick after I told them I'm Asexual.

šŸ˜šŸ˜ people weird. But hereā€™s the strangest thing for me:

Ā

Me- ā€œYes, Iā€™m asexual.ā€

Them- ā€œDo you master bate?ā€

MeĀ thinking to myself- ā€œWho tf. You not supposed to ask thatā€

Me being polite- ā€œNo.ā€

Ā

Iā€™m really just tired of this culture where straight guys feel the need to tell everyone what they do on their free time and then people think itā€™s okay to just ask questions like that (this was during my class)

Thanks mate. This person was a lot more decent than the imbecile you encountered. They just didn't get asexuality and suggested that having sex was going to change my mind.

"You can't be asexual. You must be autistic."

Ironically, the person who said this is disabled.

I haven't really told anyone I was asexual but one guy was curious about my religion asked some really weird questions :

Ā

Him: "So are all Muslims asexual?"

In my head, (I've been discovered!?)

Him: "Like they can't have sex so where do they come from?"

()

I broked it down to him as simple as possible. I find it really weird as both a Muslim and an Asexual that my peers first question about my religion always has to be sex-related. Which is better than being asked about why I didn't stop ISIS but still, I know they can think of original questions.

A saying I have encountered (at least in Poland), said of course with a lot of sarcasm: "[insert group] reproduce by budding!".

Someone said "Eww"Ā

Ā

It was weird

Can't be surprised.

Ā

"Hi, I'm asexual!"

Ā

The other person hears it as " Hi, I'm a sexual human being. Maybe very sexual!"

Ā

That person responds with "Eww"

Ā

That's why I use ace instead.

Yes, the oh so famous cult of People Not Getting It On.

Or, P.N.G.I.O for short. Lovely people.

I took a Psychology class once and in one of our lessons the teacher brought up sexuality. When I asked about asexuality, one of the students was confused and thought I was talking about biology.

And to make matters worse, the teacher didn't hear so I never got my answer.

To be fair, I set myself up for this one.

Ā

"I'm asexual. I'm just not attracted to people that way."

"Oh. So, animals?"Ā

Divide By Zero

All the things that are on bingo cards.

Ā

When telling people I'm ace I find it helps to mention it as a sexual orientation to give it context. So I might say something like, "When it comes to sexual orientation, I'm asexual".

So I came out to two close friends at my swim practiceĀ after I made a comment that I can't swim straight nor be straight. So I started by saying "I am a deck of cards" (I have codes so me and my lgbtq+ friends can talk about our sexualities out in the open) and they didn't catch on so I then started to say "I am ace". Still didn't catch on so after we did our dives and got back in line we had this following conversation,

Ā

person 1: you are asexualĀ

Ā

Me: *slow clapping* finally I thought it wouldn't have to take this longĀ

Ā

Person 1: so you have the same sexuality as HitlerĀ

Ā

(note my teacher literally started off world war 2 by saying that many people thought hitler to be ace so that is like the only thing some people at my school knows about asexuality)

Ā

Person 2: *looking very confused* I have a few questionsĀ

Ā

me: go right ahead i am willing to answer any you want to knowĀ

Ā

Person 2: so do you want sex

Ā

me: not reallyĀ

Ā

person 2: *looks even more confused than ever* ok

I wouldnā€™t put too much stock into anything that teacher taught you. Ā  Hitler did have a period of celibacy, but if your teacher thinks celibacy and asexuality are the same thing, then it shows a lack of understanding, which isnā€™t really a wonderful trait in a teacher.Ā

Every guy I've ever told that I'm Ace has asked me this....

Girls usually ask what the guy did to make me this way.

He said that people THOUGHTĀ he was asexual, but he didn't take a stance on the subject. I am at least glad that he educated people on the topic because people in my school didn't understand that ace people could love someone before he explained asexuality to people. He actually had a good amount of education on the topic and I was so happy that asexual was finally mentioned in my private schoolĀ

I had a series of coming out events with my mom because she really didn't get what I was saying. When I first used the term with her and re-explained what it meant, she flat out told me I was just as broken as my bisexual boyfriend (he's my husband now.)

Ā

Not exactly weird but it hurt pretty damn bad.

"so you are lesbian?"
um no.

in a facebook group for solo travelers: the question was would you hookup with someone you met abroad
I answered: "I'm Asexual, I wouldn't hookup with anyone anywhere"
the response I got was: "maybe you should find a travel group for your own kind"

Ā

oof
