LouLou1977
Just wondering how asexuals manage a relationship. I only want sex every 1 to 2 months, partner thinks Im asexual and we row about my lack of sex drive. How do people manage this? I dont want to be made to feel I have to have sex, but at the same time not sure how to keep someone satisfied.
NickyTannock
Welcome to AVEN! Usually, Asexuals find a compromise with their Sexual partner, like scheduling sex. In my case, though, I've never had or desired either sex or a relationship. Incidentally, it is a tradition here to welcome new members by offering cake,
LouLou1977
Thank you for replying. What you have written is really interesting. If you dont mind me asking, how do you find it, not desiring sex or a relationship. Im really struggling being in a culture where everything is so sexualised. I feel strange and out of place, its starting to make me feel quite anxious and depressed. Thank you for the cake.
AroaceScriptette
Hey @LouLou1977 im aromantic asexual (i dont feel romantic or sexual attraction). I still have a libido but dont act upon it most of the time. you could be asexual but dont rush to decide and you dont have to decide if you dont want to. Everything is very sexualised and romanticised. Id like to say it gets easier but it still bugs me all the time. I just skip sex scenes in films and make a tea during adverts most of the time (yogurt adverts are so sexualised 😂) i just live in denial a lot 😂😂 If you dont want to have sex, thats fine. There's nothing wrong with that (if you are worried, speak to your GP) but just have a conversation with your partner about it? hope that kind of helps?
