I was just wondering how do y’all pronounce ‘aro’. If you select other you can comment below. Thanks!

Ay-row.

You don't say "ah-sexual", do you?  There's a reason why "ace" became the standard shorthand term for asexual (and not "ass")

Arrow, in my dialect /ˈɜɹoʊ/, because ay-row sounds too much like "a row of something"

I sometimes say ay-row, but only when I'm trying (and failing) to be funny and ironic. Otherwise it's arrow.

wait. what's the difference between ay-row and arrow? is it the pause?

The a sound in arrow is a little softer than the one in ay-row, I think.

ay-ro is like "AEROnautics"

ay-ro: more like "Hey there!" but without the H sound

arrow is more like air-ro

I pronounce it "ay-row"

I also pronounce the A in arrow with the short e sound. Am I saying it wrong?

I pronounce it as "ay-row" though the other ways to pronounce it do make sense too.

Aromantic = ay-row-mantic. Because it's ay-sexual and ay-political etc. And otherwise it would sound like aromatic [arrow-matic].

Why don't we just call it unromantic? (Yeah, I know it's not the same thing, but I like that word somehow :P)

I wasn't aware anyone pronounced it differently to ay-ro

That word is already in common usage and I think has different, or at least additional, connotations.

I know, like I wrote above. It's just that I often prefer the prefix un- to a-.

Also, I prefer immoral to amoral, but don't ask me why. It just sounds better. (I know, those words don't mean the same thing.)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I pronounce the short form as "arrow". "ay-row" sounds like I should be talking about a a row of corn or something like that.

The problem with "unromantic" is that I'm not quite aromantic, yet I'm one of the most unromantic people I know. "Aromatic" implies without romance or romantic attraction, but "unromantic" implies not being romantic, plenty of people aren't romantic but aren't aromantic, and the word "unromantic" is already often used to mean things, behaviors or people that aren't romantic, making it a term that means the same as "aromantic" would make the whole thing confusing, because you'd have to then say which definition you are referring to.

Guys, I inserted an emoticon in my comment to make sure that you all know I'm just kidding. I guess I should've added some more, or maybe I put it in the wrong place. Please please please don't take my suggestion seriously.

A - ro like in AWOL like in A hole like... probably Ay-row, although that would be "I-row" in my people's tongue.

In my mind I read it as "arrow" but if I say it aloud I say it "ay-row". I think both are pretty similar though.
