DuskFire
My party I'm proud I guess...😪
kiaroskuro
Democratic socialist would describe me best, I think. I have issues with our German Left Party as well and I sympathise with the Greens, although I don't think that there's a single party that I could fully support. I'm very anti-authoritarian. anzu2snow
I'm a liberal democrat. Chose democrat on the poll.

Ms. Carolynne
I chose other, as I'm registered unaffiliated (independent is technically a party). However my views are mostly left leaning libertarian. I vote for whoever I feel is best, but I am partial towards libertarians and democrats as they often hold views that align with mine. Chloe O'Leary
Picked Green Party as the closest equivalent to what I believe in. I'm somewhere between the Greens and Labour in UK politics.
Guest
Democratic socialist. Everyone should have their say in how they suffer. 🎉
Zinerva
Green leftist here. I usually vote for either the Green League (which leans left) or the Left Alliance.
Kappa Sigma
I just put independent, even though it seems I like to align myself more with conservative. Politics just confuses mean ,because I don't understand what they stand for ,and all politicians seem to say the same thing ,but get it done in different ways and have the problem fixed differently that might cause more problems for the people. Maiflower
I'm officially independent, though my opinions fall under liberal, green, and socialist. Of the two major parties, I am more democrat.
Comrade F&F
I chose other, because I'll pick the party that has a pro-science stance. Stop defunding my research dammit.
oldgeeza
I have to be honest, I find politics so corrupt, the politicians don't understand what it's like to live the life that the average working class person has to, how we make ends meet, after all, politicians usually come from well to do backgrounds, they earn an absolute fortune when in politics, most of them are millionaires, so they only understand that sort of lifestyle, I gave up voting years ago, I have no trust in any of the politicians over here in the UK
Guest Jetsun Milarepa
I'm firmly a supporter of 'none of the above'
MollyDMA
My family is democratic and when I voted for a libertarian for a seat in one of the committees instead of doing a straight vote, my sister got upset.
Lunala
I consider myself to be apathetic to politics. I like to stay out of it because politics doesn't interest me and it seems to be a pressure cooker for controversy, arguments and drama (from my POV) and I tend to avoid fights/drama, because nothing good comes from it and it just causes stress for both parties. Politics just isn't my cup of tea. Just my personal opinion.
user23974865
Independent. I vote for whoever seems more sensible and sincere. Typically center-left (sometimes "with a shade of green"), but, between center-left and center-right, the individual candidate is much more important to me than their party's professed ideology. It's not unusual for politicians to switch parties (or found new ones) in my country anyway. There's way too many parties.
Homer
I like facts and reasonable practical solutions, no matter who brings them forward. Does that make me a factualist?
Sally
I find Democrats to be most factualist and practical (in Homer's words) so I've always voted straight Democrat. If people who care about the things that Dems do and formed a party called the Epfotje Party, I might vote for them.

Does that make me a factualist? "Pragmatist", I guess? That's a word I use a lot, referring to myself.
TheCatBehind
I'm not from the USA, so I abstained, especially as I don't know what exactly being a socialist or affiliating yourself with the Green Party mean. But I am a social-democrat, most closely I fall into the cauldron of Green Parties
nineGardens
Yeah... inter country political comparisons are weird. Growing up in NZ, we had a friend who was a self professed "Redneck". When he took an american political quiz, it diagnosed him as a Communist, because America is so far right compared to the rest of the world (or NZ at least), that the political spectrum literally do not overlap.
JannahM
Somewhere vaguely on the left. Not what American Republicans and Democrats define as left, but actual left. Like, socialism and such rather than liberalism.
CelesteAdAstra
I voted "other" because my political views are vague at best. I care a lot for nature, animals and indigenous peoples, so I can always relate to green politics and support environmental activism. My romantic side asks for an idealistic vision of monarchy. My wild side wishes for some pacifistic anarchy to be included in the whole mix. I'm not sure what this would actually look like, either 😂
Feryn_Hyte
I think I'm technically a registered Democrat, but ideologically I'd probably say that I agree most with the Anarchists.

Dreamer23
I'll probably vote for liberal in this poll, but yeah, it's always a bit tricky to classify. Pew calls me an Opportunity Democrat (though I didn't like that quiz), many other sites have labeled me as Neo-Liberal. Either works I suppose. I definitely wouldn't consider myself beholden to either of the two big parties in the US though - I'll vote for whichever candidate I agree with more, regardless of which party they are running for (given my political leaning, in federal elections those just happen to be democrats; might change in the future or differ in local elections) Not that I've voted in the US yet (not a citizen - though hopefully will become one mid 2021! :D) The party I most often vote for in German elections is considered "classical liberal / liberal" according to Wikipedia. iff
@Comforting Rain This poll is being locked and moved to the read only Census archive for it's respective year. As part of ongoing Census organisation, and in an attempt to keep the demographics of the polls current with the active user base at the time, the polls will last for one year from now on. However, members are allowed and even encouraged to restart new polls similar to the archived ones if they like them. iff, Census Forum Moderator
