I like hentai, as in it excites me: but I'd never have sex myself, and I feel disgusted and grossed out when imagining it / watching actual porn.

 

Although I am a lesbian, and love women exclusively, I would never have sex with one, nor would I have sex with a man or with an enby.

 

Am I asexual?

If you don't experience Sexual Attraction, i.e. an emotional reaction that leads you to desire sex with a specific other real person, then you are Asexual. So yes, you can be an Asexual and enjoy hentai, or even porn involving real people.
And, if you find women romantically attractive, that would make you a Homoromantic Asexual.

There are quite a few Ace's that watch porn in some form or another.  I will occasionally watch Hentai or Yaoi but don't watch actual porn videos.  But like yourself have no desire to sleep with a person. While not sex repulsed i just have no interest in it and get no physical 'gratification' from other people touching me,  Watching porn of any form doesn't stop you being on the Ace spectrum.

I agree with this. I always saw asexuality as "you aren't sexually attracted to 3D people and don't desire sex with 3D people". 2D people are kind of like another "category", at least to me, since it's usually drawings or renders of a character, not an actual person. While I can't relate to enjoying watching porn/hentais (I'm totally sex repulsed when it comes to 3D people and the majority of 2D people), I still think you'd be ace!

For me it's more like a difference between fantasy and actual desire. I don't mind other people's sex. I can have fantasies, I can even watch porn - but no way I'd actually have sex. That's just scary. I can understand the appeal of sex in a theoretic way, but doing it myself is absolutely off-limits to me. No way I'd go through such terrifying things as being naked in another person's presence. It's not even like I'd want to, but I can't - no, I can't even want to have sex and I'm glad that I can't.

Yes, you are still asexual if you read hentai for recreational purposes. Although, outside of Aven or even the Ace Community as whole, the people probably wouldn't understand how that works (I'm speaking from experience, as I have seen some people saying some stupid shit).

 

As for the topic on hentai, I try to stay neutral about it, although I don't go in my way to look it.

I prefer using fantasies as it's much more controlled environment and I don't have to worry about being caught looking at hentai (regardless if it's for masturbatory purposes or not).
