I've noticed quite a few Talking Heads fans on this site, I don't really hear any of the others mentioned. My favorite of the above is either New Order or Depeche Mode.

Although I don't listen to New Wave very often, I do like a lot of the bands listed like The Cure, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Joy Division, New Order, and a couple others. I was also thinking of Blondie, Soft Cell, and A-Ha.

As in Yazoo?

So confusing when bands have to change their name in different countries

Others already got the ones I was going to add! Umm... These bleed into post-punk territory, but:

Yes. Forgot about that. Kinda like how Bush was Bush-x in Canada.

If you have Spotify there's some decent New Wave playlists. I like Amazon because I already have Prime.

Some newer bands with New Wave influence: Walk the Moon, Foster the People, MGMT

This thread is a fair chunk of my music collection, even if blending synthpop, and new romantics etc with new wave.

This will test folks, "Our Daughter's Wedding"

The show Without a Trace had the song Precious by Depeche Mode and after that, I started liking Depeche Mode. What some might find heretical is that I like Lacuna Coil's cover of Enjoy the Silence is better than the original.

That was their only notable release, I'm surprised anyone else has heard of them. Their studio recording is much better than their live performance

I admit, I needed Google to jog my memory. "Wait, they had that one song....."

I've heard of all of them except Culture Club, and I can only name one song by The Cure and Talking Heads and none by the rest.

Wall Of Voodoo, which I was reminded of by @Katto, whether she means it to be a reference or not.

If I were to recommend any new wave band, it would be Depeche Mode. They're the most accessible to the uninitiated (IMO) and will get you hooked. ;)
