Funny story: for years, I thought prog rock was rock music that came out of Prague.

I would say that Peter Gabriel is beyond progrock. Whilst his time in early Genesis could, maybe, be described as such, he saw the light. 

Stuff like Sledgehammer, Biko, et al were much more innovative (just look at how many 80's pop videos were influenced by Sledgehammer (Amazulu, Westworld, Talking heads to name a few))

the one that really stands out to me that isn't included above is The Mars Volta and also Tool, both of which I saw live.

I don't know any songs by most of those, and Rush and Yes are the only bands that I know more than one of their songs, but I'm sure that at least one of those bands isn't really prog, so I'm complaining.

I haven't thought of ELO as prog rock, but then again... they are quite difficult to define, and it might depend on where in their discography you find yourself (or I just haven't  listened to enough ELO to place them )
