Guest
I realised I was asexual when I reached an age where I really should have started having some interest in sex (~20), but still hadn't. I thought of myself as "non-sexual" until I discovered the term asexual a few years later. I didn't think about my romantic orientation until after spending a while on AVEN. I had never really thought about having a relationship, or thought about my lack of interest in having a relationship. I'm an introvert so spending a lot of time alone is natural for me, so it didn't occurr to me as being something that I needed to consider until I noticed other people on here calling themselves aromantic and though "oh, that's kind of how I feel".
