Galactic Turtle
Hello humans. Saw an article that touched upon lack of sexuality and how that can sometimes clash with ideas in recent decades of sexual expression and liberation specifically as it exists in some feminist rhetoric. Can't we just be friends? XD https://daily.jstor.org/the-political-provocations-of-asexuality/
tobi.is.a.gross.nerd
I think the only response I have to this is a sigh. Just a big not negative, not positive, grossly neutral sigh
Diamond Ace of Hearts
I like what they've tried to do there but that is a poorly-written article. It's like a very short high school essay that wasn't properly proof-read. As for the debate it posits, I doubt any serious feminist with a full understanding of (a)sexuality would critique asexuality in that way. Which is not to say that some who call themselves feminists and/or don't have a full understanding of (a)sexuality wouldn't do so, of course, so it's important that feminism has a considered view on asexuality, but I think the tools are pretty much there for that already in the way that feminism deals with lesbian and bisexual women.
