Noora Posted March 18, 2018 Share Posted March 18, 2018 Hello all! This is what feels really empowering about defining my sexuality: it matters, what I want and what I don't want. I'm in my late 50s, so I was raised in an era when a lot of girls were still taught to defer. It didn't matter what I was interested in doing. I was supposed to develop (or fake) an interest in my boyfriend's or husband's activities. It didn't matter what I wanted to be, since I could only be a teacher or nurse or librarian, and then I would be a wife and mother. And it didn't matter if I wanted sex or not. I had to have sex to keep a boyfriend or a husband. Now I'm feeling truly liberated at last. I don't want sex and that's okay. I want romance and cuddles and the occasional orgasm but I don't have to use sex to get those things. Finally, what I want matters. What a relief! Link to post Share on other sites

It is a wonderful feeling to realize that you don't have to try to fit into the box society chose for you. I hope you have another 50 years ahead of you lived in liberation!
