Shell94
Hi, I am new to this forum. I am interested in one day maybe having an intimate partner. However, I am concerned about how to go about telling any future dates that I am asexual. It would be great to have an asexual partner, however statically that would probably not be possible. So my question is how do asexuals maintain relationships with those who are sexual? Advice?
Yatagarasu
My relationship is based on mutual understanding and good communication. It'd never work if one party would put their needs above another.
wavewall
I think a frank conversation is in order, but before that you need to be clear about what your non-negotiables are. For example, are you sex repulsed? What kind of physically intimate contact are you and aren't you okay with? What kinds of relationship structures? Once you know where your hard lines are and what things you're willing to compromise about, you can communicate that to someone else.
