Aughra Posted February 24, 2018 Share Posted February 24, 2018 Hi, like many, I've been lurking for a while without posting, but had an impulse tonight to reach out and start trying to connect with others. I've always felt a bit 'off' when it came to my sexuality and have experimented with a bunch of things (monogamous relationships, casual sex, poly, kink, different genders) trying to find where I fit in. I had always discounted asexual as an orientation for myself as I do feel sexual attraction, but just not very often, or very situationally. Then, several years ago I came across the terms demisexual and graysexual it was like fireworks going off inside me. For the first time in a long time, I didn't feel broken. More recently, I've started seeking out more information on the asexuality spectrum and the more I discover the more I feel like this is where I belong. So here I am, a 37 year old Canadian biologist who lives on the side of a mountain in Costa Rica doing science, chasing frogs, and trying to train interns how to do science, and generally being happy that I don't have to fend off as much sexual attention as I did in the city.
