Whereas the difference for a sexual person is that while they may masturbate to porn, they'll still always have a preference (that manifests at least some of the time) to have sex with real people as opposed to just masturbating to the porn. Porn can be like a fill-in for, or sometimes an enhancer of, partnered sexual intimacy for sexual people, but for an asexual, it's just something to help them orgasm faster so they can get on with their day. They'd never prefer to have partnered sexual intimacy in place of porn, and most aces I've talked to generally claim they'd rather just not have to deal with hormones (arousal etc) at all if they could have it their own way. I imagine you know all this already of course, being asexual, but I can see why it might be confusing for people who haven't spent a lot of time discussing this sort of thing in the ace community! If they (most certainly) crash in some horrible accident, are we to ban all racecar or spy movies? I’m not really on board with your comparison. Someone driving their car dangerously after a spy movie isn’t the same as being permanently desensitised to explicitly sexual material through watching porn. Jade you may well be correct in relation to my opinion on porn. Similarly, there are people who demonise sex altogether because they don’t like it. Regardless of my experience though, I genuinely believe that had I not have been second best to porn during a significant period in my relationship, I would still have the same view. Whilst some asexuals watch it, and some don't, in exactly the same way that some sexuals do and some don't, the majority of us support the freedom of choice. Many people are repulsed by it, either because they just don't like what they're seeing or for moral reasons. Actually keeping porn overt on the net makes it easier to avoid should you not want to see it. It's easy to not search "sex video" if you don't want to, but if the Internet tries to hide porn it'll get hidden under euphemisms and searching something like "gardening" may give you a nasty surprise Also whether asexual or sexual, different people have different levels of libido, and have, as @FictoVore., said, to take matters into their own hands from time to time. To me, I've always believed that sex is an activity done between two (or perhaps more) people in a private setting but the concept of porn completely demolishes that. One time I decided to go through all of Pornhub's genres and I didn't get a lot of positives out of it. Straight porn made me think, there is nothing to it other than a dick sliding in and out of a vagina. Gay porn made me think, ooooouch (to the bumhole). Lesbian porn made me think, ew vaginas are gross, I can't even deal with mine let alone someone else's. Hardcore and rough porn is like straight porn on steroids... bleh. I had to switch the volume off after a while because I can't stand hearing the words "cock" and "pussy." The cringe was too real. In conclusion, porn is overrated. Link to post Share on other sites

And when you tell people you dont watch porn, all they could say is that: 'Its bcz ur parents told you not to do so....u hear people/religion say its bad... '.... 'But how will you know how to do it when you'll do it? U learn only the classical way in bio classes how you''ll know others '.... As if a natural disinterest in porn is impossible, you must have been brainwashed/ not being generous to urself... And yeah as if everyone are obliged to have sex someday and need to be aware of all the different methods..
