Ouma Posted January 27, 2018 Share Posted January 27, 2018 Hey y'all. I thought I should make an introduction since I just signed up. I'm Colin, and I use he/him or they/them pronouns. I've known I was asexual for awhile now, but I haven't really looked into ace related websites until I just recently found this site and figured I should join! I'm really shy but everyone here seems pretty friendly, so I'm a bit less nervous. My short story about how I came to realize I was asexual, feel free to skip it: Before I knew that I was asexual, I felt really anxious and as if I was broken because I never wanted to have sex. I knew that I was romantically attracted to people, but I didn't know that I could have romantic feelings without any sexual ones, so that made me even more confused. I would try to force myself to enjoy things like porn, but I felt just as repulsed by it as I was with the thought of sex. My friends couldn't understand why I was uncomfortable and couldn't relate to them when they started talking about sex, and honestly, I didn't understand why either at the time. I did a lot of searching online for why I felt this way, and eventually came across the term asexual. I was both really surprised and ecstatic that there was actually a word that described me, and not only that but that there was a whole community of people who are like me. I stopped feeling broken after that and accepted myself as asexual. So here I am today, a lot more happier! That's basically all. Thanks for reading! Link to post Share on other sites
