Lithsexuals, have you tried antidepressants?

My logic being, antidepressants work on people who experience Post-coital dysphoria/depression so maybe they could work there too.

Litho/akio isn't inherently a disorder. You only have any kind of problem if the "something" is causing you distress on a regular basis to the point where it negatively influences your health/well-being. Not to mention, no psychiatrist would "just give" anti-depressants out like candy.

People gotta quit pathologizing the asexual spectrum. It isn't a disorder.

I think I technically count as lith, but asexual is more convenient. Regardless I'll answer.

I've been on sertraline, fluoxetine, and currently take paroxetine and mirtazipine and my feelings haven't really changed in that regard.

If that were the case, then antidepressants would work on ANY a-spec orientation, which is CLEARLY and demonstrably untrue

@ChillaKilla What? No. I'm not saying antidepressants make people want sex (in fact they do the opposite and lower pleasure from it as well). Lithsexuals WANT it but don't react positively to its reciprocation. If being on antidepressants gets rid of the repulsion/depression, etc after sex then maybe it can also get rid of a Lithsexual's loss of interest/aversion/repulsion. They're almost the same thing but at different times.

Not wanting something returned doesn't equal clinical depression or anxiety. Again, stop trying to pathologize the asexual umbrella. :|

I'm not attacking the Gray spectrum, quit reading between the nonexistent lines. I never said Lithsexuals have a disorder, I simply asked if they've used a medication!! Post coital-depression is common, so of course if they have sex on a regular basis it's going to be distressing. The ones that seek help for it have it severe. And some Lithsexuals really wanna act on it. I was trying to offer a solution to Lithsexuals in strife over not being able to act on their desires or have a normal relationship. And actually you're wrong about Drs giving antidepressants out like candy; they factually do; they're one of the most overpurscribed drugs. You can even get them from visiting a general family Dr. But some things DO have causes, so don't take it personally if one type of Gray may end up being that. And if instead my question was "does therapy work for rape survivors" or "does Viagra work for aces who  can't get it up due to no desire" I don't think we'd be having this conversation. That being, I'm just asking a helpful question AND NOT ATTACKING ANYTHING.
