I'm an assistant architect or architectural intern or almost-an-architect, whatever the right title is supposed to be.

would Hayley like to recruit chandrakirti? Seeing as you both live in Bedford....

Ooh good spot!  I'm in Bedfordshire rather than Bedford specifically, but it's only 20 miles or so.

Haha! Thank you for thinking of me @Midland Tyke! @Hayley I have to get an Bedfordshire Ace meet organised. Bedford is not only absent from the nightly weather forecasting map on all the TV stations, but it's absent from the meetup mart as well....to be honest, I think I've run my course in Bedford and could probably be home again next year, so I wouldn't hold my breath for a job really.

I just got a job in a call-center after a month and a half of being jobless, was working retail when I quit.

Netflix subtitler!

No way! how does someone get that kind of job, that seems so cool. I almost got a job subbing phone calls for the elderly when I was searching; got a better offer though.

-edit- (I see your answer, still cool though)

Veterinary receptionist. With time, I'll work up to vet assistant/tech, as my job is super awesome and trains employees from scratch without requiring any formal schooling. I've had enough school - 2 BAs and an MA I'll never use again - so being trained on the job is great.

To most people I just call myself a gymnastics teacher and sure enough a large part of my time goes into that, but luckily I do not have to live on it (being financially independent) and much of my time I also pursue my academic interests in various fields and from time to time publish articles or contribute to books. I consider myself a private scholar, as I do not have to orient myself towards funding, but strictly maintain professional standards.

I'm currently a full-time grad student, with projected graduation in Spring 2019. At the point of my life where I feel like I want to be out of education and with a stable job/starting a career already though :/

Not quite where I planned to be 3.5 years after graduating uni but it's not the worst thing I could be doing given my mental health has been a mess for most of that time.

I'm an unemployed vocational high school student taking business, applying to various jobs. I do work in the school store, but I'm unpaid.

I hope to be a chemist, preferably in health or forensics.

I'm currently a postdoc in physics at a national lab; detector design and data analysis for neutrino and neutron-induced-fission experiments. Waiting for rising rents and falling physics funding to leave me homeless and unemployed.

Full-time retail, but it really feels more than a retail job. I would like to go back to school, though, to get a master's.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I think it's interesting to hear what people do for a living, and how they feel about their jobs. Pretty interesting people here :)

Software Developer. Effectively getting paid far too much for fun stuff I'd probably do for free. Can recommend! :D

I do internal IT support for a chain of stores (as in I support the stores IT systems, not general public going into stores).

Which chain?

I co-own a multi-brand retail business with about 100,000 employees.

(I am also one of the 100,000 employees, as we all have an equal share, but it sounds better the other way)

My job title is Stock Management Partner but I also hold the titles of S.O.R. administrator (boring retail stuff) and PartnerVoice deputy representative (cool co-ownership stuff).
