do you wear the "asexual ring"?

I wear mine almost everyday, especially when I’m going out into public, because it makes me feel confidant and happy knowing that there are others like me out there. I also want to let other asexuals know that there are others out there like them since I went so long without knowing that myself. Since I found out about the ring I have been noticing it more and have seen several people with asexual rings although i haven’t had a chance to talk to them yet as I only just found out about this about two weeks ago. But yeah I love my ring and it makes me feel less alone.

I wear mine all the time. It rarely comes off, actually. I bought it about a week after I realized I was ace and it's only come off my finger when asleep. It's a cheap ring; a tungsten carbide wedding band that I snagged for 20 dollhairs on Amazon. These things are incredibly durable and not likely to scratch, so I can wear it under basically any circumstance. They're also really brittle, so an impact that would normally deform a ring around the finger will outright shatter this one. All of that combines to make a really practical ring that is incredibly unlikely to scratch, isn't hard to remove in case of injury, and if I have to shatter it off of my hand I can get a new one within the day.

I really want one, but, I don't think my family will be okay with it. So, I'm waiting till college.

I have one, even got my mom to buy it, without her knowing what asexuality is. 😉

I wear mine every day, except when traveling because I don't want to lose it. Personally, I don't really wear it to find other aces, but I just like it for myself. I don't know why, but I just feel good about expressing my true self, even if nobody knows what it means.

Interestingly, I DO find myself looking twice when I see someone wearing a black ring, though. I always check to see which finger it is on. Haha. I've only ever found someone wearing it on their right middle finger once, and I am kicking myself for not commenting on it at the time. I would have said something like "That's a cool ring. I have one a lot like it!"

I take mine off for work. that's it. other than that its a permanent feature on my right hand middle finger. Havent spotted any irl, but I did see one on the second season of Queer Eye. They never mentioned it but I don't think a person in the LGBTQ+ community would wear a black ring on the middle finger of the right hand constantly if it wasn't an ace ring.

I have a black ring with cat ears and paws 🐾 it’s great for me, no one has picked it for being asexual but a few people have realised I’m a furry :D

I probably would if it wasn’t black. I hate how black rings look on people. And I see lots and lots of men now wearing them as their wedding ring.

I wear mine very often, especially when socialising/partying, with another ring stacked above it, so it looks a bit more interesting than just a plain black band. No one ever asked me about it, so far.

I wear one I'm not usually a ring person I normally find them quite uncomfortable but I decided to make one anyway that way even if I didn't end up wearing it at least I could say I made something and now I feel weird not wearing it

You could go to your local jewelry store and have your finger sized. That way if you find a ring that you like online you know which size to get.

@The Dutchmen You're welcome! I know the struggle of trying to find a black ring in a physical store and of not knowing what size to get once you turn to looking online.

I got my ring via Amazon. It seemed to be the only place that I could find a ring in my size. It's not the beauty that I shared an image of in my post from June, but I still love it.

This is the ring that is currently sitting on my finger:

Simple enough for casual attire but with that added detail in case you decide to be a bit more formal.

I don't own a black ring but do have a bracelet with beads corresponding to the colours of the ace flag. It's really pretty! I got it off of Etsy :) I don't wear it very often though. Maybe i should more often! Probably wouldn't wear it around family. They probably would just think it was a pretty coloured bracelet to be honest but I wouldn't want to risk the questions that would come up if they did know what it meant lol

I do wear an ace ring though no one’s ever really noticed!

I used to wear an ace ring that I made for myself, with braided cord and modge podge, but it broke. I found a $5 ring at a fair trade store near me (it's hematite, so it's slightly off black, but it catches the sunlight very nicely). Last October, I came out to my closest friend, who is also ace (they wear a black ring as well), and they were the only person I directly came out to. Since then, I was recognized by a robotics teammate (also ace and also wears a ring). Today, I got another comment on my ring by my best friend, who I was surprised hadn't noticed yet. It was actually pretty funny because I was sitting with my robotics teammate and talking, and we were both compulsively fidgeting with our rings. She interrupted us mid-sentence and asked, "Why do you guys all wear black rings on your middle finger? Are you part of some cult?" She then asked, "Wait, is it a gay thing? I bet it's a gay thing. I should get one!" (She's abrosexual, and probably could not be further from asexual) After he explained what it was, she raised her eyebrows and said, "So no sex for you? That's a shame." It was kinda weird, but that's the only time a non-ace has ever noticed my black ring (or, at least, the only time they've asked about it).

I've been considering wearing one, I just haven't gotten around to actually buying one yet. I normally don't wear rings, so if I get it and it doesn't feel right I might just wear it on a necklace chain! :)

I got an ace ring recently, and it's mostly a comfort item for me. I lost the one I had previously and I had a minor anxiety attack over it. 😕

I have worn ace t-shirts, though, that got recognized, so that was nice! :)

That is great! :) Usually it seems that if one is sporting the colors / symbols , etc. this is the hardest part is finding someone who recognizes it, oddly.

I wear it. Where I live, one of my shopping malls has this shop that sells rings. All of the rings you can try on and stuff and they even had a whole section full of black rings. I found a cool black ring and that's how I got mine :D I love wearing it, though nobody I know seems to have decoded it ... yet?

If it breaks or the paint peels off I will just buy another one. But so far it's still in good condition.

I love wearing it.
