It has an interestingly gloomy atmosphere, like the person singing was finally pushed to the ground after dealing with all life's weight for a long time. It is a nice departure from Klayton's more usual energetic, at times aggressive style. His use of guitar in "The Great Divide" is also quite unique for him. Although since the album is so gloomy it is also quite heavy to listen to, so I won't probably bring it out as often as Klayton's other work. Maybe him mixing this more plaintive style with his more usual energetic style could produce a great mixture of both? I really want to listen to those Cynical Mass songs you posted.
