Do you wish you could remove your genitals? [TW]

Recommended Posts

Sometimes, especially right now, I'm just so fed up with my uterus. I just started my period, and the cramps kept me up until about 3 AM, when I gave up on trying to ignore the pain and took some medication. It's just so frustrating, because my period constantly gets in the way of the things I want to do. I can't really swim (I don't like tampons), I don't like taking baths because the blood gets everywhere, I have to cut camping trips short if blood gets on things (such as rainpants and the inside of sleeping bags-- rotting blood stinks, and it's a bit hard to clean in the backcountry), and when I forget medication at school I can't get anything done, because the school nurse is unable to give out over-the-counter pain meds.

I've looked into using birth control to stop or limit my periods, because I know that there are safe ways that I can do that. I was reading about a medication you can take to limit your periods to a few times a year, and that sounds wonderful. However, I'm not completely sure if I'm really that interested in doing that. I think that I'll probably wait until my period is over in a few days and then really think about it. My mom actually brought it up as I was having a crying fit this morning, so I think that I'd have my parent's support if I decided to try that.

As far as my breasts, I know that my mom had to get a breast reduction because she was having a huge amount of trouble with a bigger chest. She got back pain often and couldn't do things like tap dance because the bouncing was painful. Personally, I have to put my arm across my chest to hold my boobs in place whenever I'm running or jumping. I hate doing that, and I also hate how I can accidentally forget that I have cleavage and show too much when I bend over to do something.

It's interesting for me as a cis female, because I'm not used to hating my female organs so intensely. I guess that I've always taken for granted that my body makes me a woman, and I don't know what my gender would be if my body were completely androgynous. I don't dislike being feminine (though I dislike how society can treat me), it just is, so wishing that my genitals would disappear is a bit of a shock. I guess I've never really thought about it before it all hit me (at around 2 AM last night).

I'm sorry to hear you feel so bad. I used to have real bad PMS and it miraculously got better after starting a low-FODMAP diet for my IBS. I have heard before that some foods are anti-inflammatory and the inflammatory foods do seem to coincide with the things that I stopped eating, so there might be some truth to it. You might want to give it a try. Taking a uterus out isn't so simple and can have serious side effects. Hopefully lifestyle changes and birth control pills or an IUD with hormones can help you find some relief. I've also been told there are centres specialised in female health, for women with these kinds of problems and other hormonal issues. Maybe there's one close to you.

Like, I see advantages and disadvantages to having mine. If I had to deal with periods, I'd want it removed.

Pros:

I can pee standing up

I look normal for my gender

Cons:

It's extra baggage

Half of it's functions aren't useful for me

If it was free, safe, easy, and judgment free, sure I'd remove them, but as of right now, no.

I have read about that as well when it was first introduced (about ten or so years ago?). Do any of you know of persons that have done this?

No, but I did some furious googling. I think I'm going to talk about it with my doctor and see if it might work for me.

If it would get rid of my libido, then yes absolutely! I'm totally cool with that!

I have thought about it, and as annoying the monthly thing is, I suspect *it* would bother me even more if I were a guy (no offense). I have somewhat of a mild dislike of my breasts and I wouldn't mind parting with them. They serve no purpose if you're not procreating except get in your way when you're playing sports. 😶

i mean sure they can get annoying sometimes with the random erections and all but to be completely honest?

i like jacking off way too much to ever get rid of them

Not violently removed, though desire genitals that change, like getting absorbed back into the body and to change based on my fluidity between NB and female, rather than my male parts.

Re the don't want a uterus feeling, I did once mention to my GP I wanted my periods to stop. He surprised me by saying it might be possible and I should talk to another GP in the practice who was more of an expert than him. She said not really but... and then when she realised I didn't want it for birth control it was just no.

Sometimes, especially during my call of nature, I want the uterus to be gone. Other times, I just ignore it. I don't have a strong urge to remove it though.

I mean I'm fine with being a guy but if I could get rid of my balls to stop any libido or arousal at all, I would do it in a heartbeat. I mean I wouldn't mind my penis if it was just a pee pipeline and nothing else. It's the fact that it gets erections and twinges that makes me hate it. I'm asexual I don't need or want arousal, it really bothers me. Plus testes are only good for getting caught in zippers and tanuki transformation. They really aren't in the best area on the body either.

So yes if I could I would get rid of my genitals but only if it would stop libido.

i would never want a uteros id rather have balls. if you stop all masterbating and stifle every erection that comes along eventually everything will shrink up some and the urges and feelings will dissipate and go away completely. you will find its no longer a concern, it wont fall off but will seem to have.

Where'd you get that idea?

I don’t really want to just outright delete any part of my body really, but I’d really like for my reproductive organs to not be a crippling weak point. I guess it’s to give male humans an incentive to protect their reproductive abilities, but it’s actually one of the worst things about being a guy. I could be built like a truck, but oops I accidentally got hit in the groin with a ball or a harness was tied too tight so my body doubles over in pain.

That reminds me of a radio DJ talking about pain. He was recounting a conversation he'd had with his sister. He knew that males couldn't relate to the pain of childbirth but said that getting punched in the crotch was a close second. Apparently his nephew (her son) had punched him one day while visited as he entered a room. He dropped to the floor, clutching his grown in the fetal position. He looked up and the nephew was giggling.

not true, testes will always produce semen. Excess will be reabsorbed and recycled, as it dies off eventually.

Your penis also doesn't need sex or masturbation to stay healthy. You get erections while you sleep so that it can remain strong and healthy even with no sexual activity at all.

Edit: if thats true for you please go to a doctor

I certainly wouldn't mind if my gonads were removed in some way or another.

Spoiler

My urogenital system has been surgically modified in such a way that I can no longer urinate through my penis. Given that I am an asexual with no libido to speak of in addition to this, neither it nor any other part of my male genitalia serve any useful purpose whatsoever. The only reason they have not been removed already is that I am not currently far enough out of my mind to try doing it myself, and I don't care enough to ask someone more qualified.

Be careful. That is also symptomatic of various diseases, or mental health issues. Either can cause depressed or non-existent libido.

Penile or testicular atrophy cannot take place merely through thought, end of debate.

I have frequently expressed a desire in recent years to have my vagina stitched shut, I don't want my relationships based around sex, yet it comes up, and the moment I realise that the inherent attraction is sexual in nature, I want to curl into a ball and cry/die, because I feel like I'm not enough without engaging sexually with them.  I also have a very high libido at times and this presents many  problems for me, I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who has felt this way. :D thanks for sharing

I'd REALLY like to get rid of my breasts entirely. I want to be flat-chested!! I really want to present as androgynous. However, surgery is expensive and painful so I'll just have to bind... As for my sexual organs, I'm okay with them, although I would MUCH rather have no sexual organs at all and be completely sex-less. I'll deal with it though.
