Welcome to AVEN!

I'm also a vegetarian, college student, and sugar addict.

I played the violin once, and I am pretty pale also.

I, like you, only want close relationships.

I've contemplated whether I want to live alone in the future or have a roommate or roommates.

I have plenty of time to decide, I think. I'm only 20.

Are you the guy sitting next to me by any chance? ;) (I am also from NM)

welcome

Violin AND piano?

I am soooo jealous. xD

I've got to try to obtain piano lessons one of these days. I even have a piano. But the only thing I use it for is to learn my choir music. :P

Haha. Welcome to AVEN. :cake:

Well, I quite can't seem to understand anymore what I was trying to say yesterday, it had something to do with NLP, as much as I realise from my previous posts. I have a memory like goldenfish has, at that point at least.

Seems I'm late on the scene, but welcome to AVEN, Jonathon.

so now for something completely different and random:

photographer.

Me too - a fair few of my photos are floating about here and there, on threads, online photo albums and my Myspace page. What do you take photos of?

college student.

Spanish and sociology, eh? What are you planning to go onto? I'm a postgrad in ecology, myself.

violin.

piano.

Played the piano when I was very young but gave it up, though I've been told I wasn't bad. These days I'm a guitarist - well, I have a guitar. I've even practised it a few times, but time never seems to be on my side.

myspace addict.

Well, I'm on Myspace if that counts...

listening to the country station...

I'm a country fan too, though more of a rock 'n' roll fan. As long as it's 50 years old or so I'm happy...

Phil

Welcome to AVEN, Jonathan. :cake: Living with a best friend sounds really cool to me- actually, I did that for about a year.

Good luck with the doctor!

MR SPOCK: thanks for the long reply. there is something about a whole bunch of words that makes me excited. i like reading things. especially mail or things that are directed towards me. sometimes i will just read letters or essays written by someone else hoping that there will be a reference about me in them. maybe that's a bit crazy, but whatever. :D moving on... *gasp* you have no gender? how can you live? how can you survive? the world is at an end... *please note sarcasm of previous statements* i don't know if androgony is the answer to the universe, but we should all start accepting the fact that some genders step out of preset boundaries or just don't see themselves as a certain gender is inevitable. and the whole internal battle with asexuality is almost exactly as you said. it's deciding whether you are just telling yourself that or is you really are. i've talked with my father about it and surprisingly enough he was very supportive of the whole thing.

FRIGID PINK: thanks for the welcome! i too have thought about whether i'm going to live alone or with someone (or someones). as of right now i'm leaning towards being alone, but at the same time when I hang out with my friends I enjoy their company and would like to be around people. I talked to my father about being single/alone and he said it would be alright to be alone if only i had a strong social connection. but i too am young and have awhile to decide... (yay vegetarians!) :D

GOONIE: haha! i may not be the person sitting next to you... unless if you sit in the art building at UNM. o_O

FAYETJE: hmm... you may not be so jealous if you actually heard me play. lol I think the piano is an amazing instrument and it does sound beautiful. Tori Amos even thinks they are real. (yeah... don't ask me where that came from, but it's true.) thanks for the welcome!

MAXINE: it's alright. no worries. the love is still here. <3

ANTICULUS: Thanks! *runs off and stashes cake away in the already full freezer to finish later*

POBBLEBONK: i take photos of myself. no joke. ever since i started taking pictures most of them have been self-portraits. i don't exactly know why, but that's what happened. i do take pictures of other people though. so i'm more of a portrait photographer than anything. how about yourself? i'm actuall majoring in photography but i have to take all the other liberal arts classes, sigh. i'm actually in the process of hopefully transfering to a more photography oriented school next semester. i think everyone will eventually be on myspace once in their life. if they don't join it, they will at least go there to see what the hype is all about. in my case i looked, joined, and got hooked. i need a ten step program to get off it. or is it a twelves step... or eight? i don't know anymore. my music tastes range soooooo much. i listen to almost anything. almost is the key word though. indigo girls, norah jones, the cranberries, jason mraz, britney spears, shania twain, the dresden dolls, hellogoodbye, alanis morissette, bright eyes, ricky martin, tori amos, girlyman... lol

GHOSTS: thanks for the welcome! i think i need to find a best friend now. lol i will let you know how the doctor goes. it's gonna go down in about... two and a half hours...

Mostly wildlife; some landscapes. I've been told my photos are quite easy to find on the internet (a site called WildMadagascar has a few), and I've got a photobucket album here:

http://photobucket.com/albums/c113/Phil_Bowles/

It's a pretty random collection, mostly put up because I needed to provide a link to a particular photo for one reason or another so put it online. I seem to have a disproportionate number of landscapes there, actually (and a few self-portraits among the photos of me, some taken by other people). Here's another of my recent wildlife photos:

MAXINE & everyone else interested:

so i went to the doctor. after this visit it makes me wonder where they get these doctors from. i was sitting there waiting for a guy in a white lab coat or something instead i got in essence, a hillbilly. he had long hair. but it was thining and long and scraggy and patchy and ugly. and his teeth were all crooked and chipped. and he wasn't wearing anything pretty. if you think i'm kidding, i'm totally not. that set me on edge right away. not that it was uncomfortable enough as it was...

so then i told him i was asexual and was looking into hormonal medication to repress sexual drive.

he kinda looked at me and said, "i know of some that do it as side affects... but not specifically. have you talked to a conselor about this? you know, we have a great counselling program that we offer students."

me: "i've been to a counselor."

him: "oh. did they have a degree?"

me: " *sigh* yes, they did."

him: "okay... well there is really nothing i can do. usually i'm asked by guys for viagra or something..."

me: "thanks anyway, but that's not what i want at all."

him: "oh."

(this was a shortened version, but the general gist. i'm not really surprised i guess. but what really was surprising was that my father knew more about it than the 'doctor' did. so i really am no farther than before. i think i'm going to go searching around more to see if we have a sex specialist in the area or something...)

oh.

and i have slight bronchitis.

*sigh*

I wonder what constituted very easy. And were they referring to all of them, or just a high proportion of them occuring in the first few pages of results? Or did they do an image search and find two dozen of your pics immediately?

I seem to have a disproportionate number of landscapes there,

I wonder what caused an animal lover such as yourself to flood his photobucket album with landscape pics.

Here's another of my recent wildlife photos

I don't like that frog. His coloring is creepy. He looks to human like.

/laughing/.

Sorry I'm laughing but the doctor seemed really strange to me. Almost like mine. And that is not a compliment :D

But, a goos luck with finding more competent one... Will you keep us posted?

MAXINE: it's no problem that you are laughing. i kinda laughed as i left. i really do wonder where these places get their doctors from. my father is going to his whateverhecallsit today and said he would ask her somethings. so i'll definately keep you posted.

Photography_boi,

Hello again! Again- too bad about the doctor. Sometimes I think that a D- is still passing in medical school, *is attacked by a bunch of AVEN med-students* *attempts to regain composure* I don’t know how often the really good doctors are. If I wasn’t so weird about touching- I’d almost say the scarcity of good doctors is incentive to become one and thus better the world. *arrogance is noted* I hope you’re content to live as you are for the time it takes and know that no one (including yourself) should be beating you up being the way you are. Surely no one here is going to point fingers or even really care at all about how you are. But I do know how you feel and I know that you should not be made to suffer through unwanted circumstances. Life isn’t fair and no one should have to experience the breadth of that statement simply because it exists. Good luck and I wish you happiness!

well, my father talked to his doctor today... or was it a phsycologist? i cant' remember.

she said that the other guy was a total quack and that there are medications for "chemical castration" and that it's actually required for there to be. for people such as sexual criminals and old men walking around in hospitals wanting to get it on with old women. i'm sorry if that was a graphic-ish image, but that's what she said.

so i will be going to see another "doctor" sometime soon to talk about that. i will keep you all posted.

There actually are medications for kind of... castration? Wow, didn't think that there were actually.

well, it's a connotated castration. it's not an actual castration. it makes it so you are unable to preform. so then a sexual predator wouldn't be able to rape his vistims, etc...

yeah.

Yep, I know what you meant. That when you stop taking that you'll also be able to performance again.
