I think he's running out of things to say at his rallies, and probably running out of people to come to them.  Someone on Facebook posted an ad from his campaign asking for "supporters" to come to a rally, where they'd be paid $15/hr.

I'd love to say something on topic here, but I'm too busy flushing my toilet.

What a socialist hypocrite! They should be paid six dollars an hour under the table. Hunger builds character.

They tried that; nobody showed up.

Trump should really refrain from mentioning Obama-all it does is make me like Obama more and Trump less.

But it likely makes his base remember what they hated about Obama and think about why Trump is better. Even if I and others think the same thing, even when we didn't necessarily like Obama, I think it's a subtle reminder to those who are Republican-or-die kind of people.

Okay I'll bite.

What exactly did Obama do that he's so well-liked? I honestly don't get it. He can form proper sentences, I'll give him that... the one thing Doughnald accomplished is to make Obama look decent in comparison, which is quite a feat.

The level of conversation in this thread has reached tabloid levels, wow.

That's on Doughnald more than on the people talking about him.

I dunno if I like Obama per say but I like a lot of things he and his wife did like trying to give Americans healthcare, trying to close Gitmo and suggesting that kids should have healthy food. Its more a question of whenever Trump mentions Obama it reminds me that, while being far from perfect I would rather have Obama back than Trump,

Trump mentions Obama all the time because he is obsessed with trying to obliterate everything that Obama put into place.  To Trump, Obama represents both the intellectual elite that makes him feel insignificant, and the "other" because of his mixed race.

“...to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee.”

"And so the bird of heaven, with archangelic shrieks, and his imperial beak thrust upward, and his whole captive form folded in the flag of Ahab, went down with his ship, which, like Satan, would not sink to hell till she had dragged a living part of heaven with her, and helmeted herself with it."

I think a whole logical fallacy should be named after Donald Trump, but I'm having trouble pinpointing which one. Ad hominem is certainly up there, but we can't use that, that'd just give him an ego boost. Which one does he use most often?

It is impossible to pin one fallacy on Trump.

The one thing I will give the guy, he is a master manipulator and media savant, even if he doesn't know it himself. That is his strength. He just unleashes such a storm it is impossible to keep up with, and he clearly has his finger on the pulse of a significant part of the population. It is annoying that he is so good at it. He is basically the bully from an 80s movie, but he keeps winning.

The last thing this country needs is a drop of more military.

I guess a Space Force could eventually be necessary... if you project forward enough in time. I guess now is as good a time to start as ever, though? We are starting a new stage of space exploration. I don't see the need to militarize anything - even projecting ahead, getting into a shooting war in space is pretty preposterous.

It isn't the worst thing Trump has done. It is dumb, and it will forever has his dumb name attached to it, but I think it is an inevitable progression.

Am I the only one who wouldn’t be surprised if Trump blew a raspberry from behind the podium?

Lying? Appeal to ignorance? (although not really the way fallacy really goes, just the name of it)

Him and his supporters often use "appeal to hypocrisy". "Everybody does it".

Although I don't think he uses one more than others. I think he uses all of them as often as he can.

Maybe the question is... is there one he hasn't used?

If asked, he'd probably say something like "Farting is for losers. I never fart. I just naturally never fart. It's amazing. You ask anyone in the White House, they say I never fart. Boy lemme tell ya that -insert world leader's name here-, last time we met, absolute stink-o. I'm thinking "what does this guy eat?" He should do what I do. I never fart."

If that happened and the microphones caught it so it was totally audible, I’d laugh so freaking hard.

Apparently that did happen with a different politician. xD

All of them! From the 'No True Scotsman' fallacy, to the "No Middle Ground" fallacy, then turn right into 'The Texas Sharpshooter' fallacy. He's a walking, talking fallacy himself, and that, with his narcissism, leads to his worldview of their are only winners and losers zero sum fallacy. There is a maxim in investing that "A bull can make money and a bear can make money, but a pig never can." Guess which one Trump pursues? He has to have it all and will make everyone miserable until he gets it. Just ask the people who have worked for him-- he'll never have enough and he can't stand seeing someone get a bigger piece of the pie than he does. That's part of the reason behind his hatred of Obama and the fact that he wasn't elected by the popular vote.

I had no intention of watching Trump give the state of the union and accidentally saw a little bit of it. 🤢 🤮 So arrogant and smug. He makes me so angry!
