For well publicised reasons I can't stand at the moment. However I hope to stand in the future. To me Q & A should be treated like a job interview. The questions and responses should be targeted to determine whether a candidate has the right aptitude to take on the role. As a sense of humour can help in determining whether comments are meant to be funny or offensive I can understand why there are some apparently frivolous questions. Likewise, if a candidate has been in hot water I can understand questions to try and determine whether they have learnt from mistakes. But there is a fine line before you reach discriminatory interrogation against one candidate.
