The foxes had been busy in my garden.  The little bale of barley straw to treat/prevent green water had been removed from the pond, a trench had been dug in my newly replanted flowerbed exposing the gladioli corms I had planted, and a large duck egg had been eaten and the shell left on the path.  I presume they found the egg somewhere on the allotments or by the river, as there isn't a nest in the garden.  I think I will lower the height of the netting over the pond in case an inquisitive cub falls in trying to catch a fish.  I get quite anxious trying to protect all the wildlife.  I was getting up a few weeds/self-sown plants where I didn't want them, and disturbing spiders yesterday, which made me feel bad.  I left little clumps for them to return to if they wanted.

Went for a walk round a beautiful bluebell wood today.

Further on there are fewer bluebells and masses of wild garlic.

During my walk yesterday, I passed a small pool of water that had a whole bunch of tadpoles swimming around in it. Each one of those black dots in the picture below is a tadpole!

I also saw some wild turkeys off in the distance, but they were too far out for me to get a good picture. They could be heard gobbling from a mile away!

They better hurry up and turn into frogs before their puddle dries up!

Dog and I had a nice walk round the local nature reserve this morning.  Sunshine, bluebells, bird song and blossom.

The property owner mentioned that they were going to try to relocate as many of the tadpoles as possible to a larger pond before that happens. Here's hoping they make it!

I've been sick recently and haven't gotten out for many walks. Here are a couple of critters from last week.

A Canada goose nests on the roof of a local nature center.

Here's a bluebird.

And a northern flicker.
