It's funny, I am turning 60 later this year and I didn't feel old until this year. Well, I suppose technically last year. I have had so many changes and endings in the last year that have forced me to look at what the hell I did with my life that all of a sudden I realize I am out of time to fix much of anything. Before when I messed up I just moved on and outgrew the problem. I don't think that will work anymore.

I still feel young. I'm 46, and in many respects I'm pretty immature, but in a sophisticated kinda way! :P

I admit, though, that I feel kinda old when I have to Google urban terminology. Like hashtag, Snapchat, trash, dead, lit, Netflix and chill, etc. I work with kids, so I'm always looking stuff up. Some phrases, I'm so off base that my jaw drops like Netflix and chill. :o

I had an Achilles tendon injury three years ago and have had other feet and leg issues ever since. The experience has completely changed me--I've gone from feeling young to feeling old. I skipped right over feeling middle-aged!

Faraday, I just Googled "Netflix and chill"--haha, I had no idea that's what it meant!

I think someone on AVEN recently turned it into "netflix and chili" (have to look closely) - just watching some tv or movies and eating a nice spicy dish. No euphemisms need apply! :P

Although I'm 56, on a good day I don't feel much older than 30. However, since moving in with my elderly father to look after him I've become more conscious of my real age.

For me, my 50th birthday. Other ages are not bothering me as I pass 50. It was like a wake up call... Not young anymore. Nobody going to check your ID for wine now! LOL Inside, feel smarter but the same. Interesting isn't it?

El-not-so-ace, sorry to hear that. It's always sad losing a per, but rest happy that you have done the right thing. *Hugs *

I'm 31 and I guess I still feel young. Not sure what it'll feel like to feel old. In fact, I don't think someone's old until they're around 85 or 90. Then, I've also got nothing but respect for them. I think it's an honor to grow old. The alternative's not too great. Everyone seems to think I look half my age, so maybe that affects my view for myself a bit.

I really need to spend more time here - just saying. 8)

I will turn 60 later this year. There are times when I've felt old, but generally I don't feel any age in particular. I know I act old - as far as activity level - but then I always have, I was a low-energy kid, LOL. On the other hand, I also act young in a mildly autistic, naive way. I'm a cynic/curmudgeon and faery child rolled into one. You never know what you're going to get. ;)

I feel young in my mind, but very recently began to feel my age when I needed a stick to walk due to sciatica.
In town, I saw myself in a shop window reflection and the grey hair, white beard and the walking stick put me in mind of my late grandad.

I'm 35 and people tell i don't look 30+ at all. I sure don't act like it sometimes. #foreveryoung

the only time i feel old is after going to concerts and when taking a really long roadtrip; i need breaks to stretch :D but it's nothing like a night of rocking out like you were 17 to make you realize you're 30 and not that young anymore ;)

I'm 40, but in my head, I'm still a kid.. some days I feel like a scared 8 year old, but most days I feel like an uncertain 10-12 year old.

Unfortunately, my body feels old... I got injured badly 8 years ago and was left with severe damage to my spine that causes constant intense pain, muscle spasticity, and nerve damage. The meds I'm on to deal with the pain, spasticity, and nerve damage often make me kind of groggy and have caused my memory to become poorer.

The weird thing is that a lot of people mistake me for being much younger than I really am. I am routinely mistaken for being in my late 20s to early 30s. This could be because my autism-impaired social skills are more like those of a young teen, or because I've never worn cosmetics or tanned, so I haven't developed the skin issues that mark someone as being older.

@UncommonNonsense they have me on the Autism spectrum but under PDD-NOS since they think I don't quite match Aspergers. I think it may be why people often thing I am in my early to mid twenties when I am actually 42 (43 on Monday). I tend to be very playful, lighthearted and fun I suppose.

I feel old. LOL. I have some chronic pain issues that make me move way slower than I want to. I really am feeling my age. Having trouble getting weight off, but that may be some of the medications I take, Gonna try some longer walks with Pokemon Go this fall!

I've been fighting an illness for a long time but, I don't feel old, per se. I feel tired of being sick but refuse to get "old" .

I am old. That's reality and I don't see any reason to dispute it. I'm sorry that "society" (whatever that is for any one of us) teaches us that old is bad and we should always claim that we are still young. That just encourages young people not to feel respect for old peoples' experiences and maturity. I wish we had the traditions of China and Japan and many other countries in how old people are respected.

I am 57, soon to be 58 -and I have NEVER stopped feeling young.

Yet I have chronic disease and disability-have suffered huge losses including the death of my grown son-but I have NEVER stopped feeling young, and I am sure that the day I do, I will be dead.

Becomingme, I’m so sorry you’ve had to bear the heartbreak of losing your son. In light of that and your physical burdens, your resolve to maintain your youthful outlook is especially notable.

I, too, am 57 and soon to be 58, and I still think of myself as young. That may be a result of having earlier in life been one of the youngest in my classes from grade school through college, then younger than most of my colleagues in my first few jobs. When I joined my current workplace a few years ago, it was kind of jarring to be treated as an experienced veteran by those co-workers who really are young!

I don't think I ever felt young at least not in the conventional sense of socialising in large groups' and attending parties which are things I have never done nor would want too. However I did feel more idealistic when I was younger but didn't see this idealism reflected in those of the same age group who appeared to me to be cynical pragmatists. This is one of many reasons why I have always struggled to form friendships among my generation and have generally always got on better with older people.

You should have added an addition to Q2 "I still feel young". Something has gone wrong with the statistics. How can you have more people stop feeling young >56 than the number who actually are >56? Act your shoe size, not your age. Use your age privilege card, do it very disgracefully.

My brain is still 17 - though the body puts it right when it wants to do something the body could when it was 17.There's always something to try for the first time, there's always something new to learn. I have many regrets and wish I'd done things differently but I can't change the past and will make the most of the future :D

Just had an eye exam today. Had a long discussion about a possible need for progressive lenses. Yep, that made me feel old. XD

I guess I'm unique in that I don't think there is anything at all wrong with feeling old. I don't think having lived fewer years is necessarily better.
