    anyone past 50 on here?

I don't know if all are, but it is pretty standard. Yes, the original purpose was to have open air markets underneath, and some (many?) still do.

  4. Hi, I am a 19 y/o somewhat sex-repulsed asexual who is currently dating an allosexual girl. We have been dating for around 8 months, and she has recently asked me how I would feel if she hooked up with other people to fulfill her ‘sexual needs’. I told her that I was uncomfortable with this. I am really not comfortable with ‘open relationships’ or whatever or with the thought of her having sex or being with other people. She says she respects my boundaries and choices but I’m afraid this relationship won’t be sustainable. I think that I will be ready to try sex eventually, but I am not ready and don’t know when I will be. In the mean time, I don’t want her to be unsatisfied, but I don’t know if I can let her hook up. She had pointed out that it won’t be sharing or the same at all because what we have is a romantic relationship and she just wants sexual relief or whatever (I don’t totally understand the allos). Should I let her hook up? Is it selfish not to? I feel mean but if I did it would feel wrong. I just want this relationship to last and be healthy but I’m not sure if I stay she will be fine. I really love her but if it’s not gonna be a healthy and sustainable relationship I don’t know what I should do. I can’t think of a solution that will allow both of us to be comfortable and happy and I’m scared. Any advice or experience would help!!

If I have no libido, can I really know I’m asexual?

I feel like there is a big misunderstanding on one end or the other about just what libido actually is (remarkably similar to how when I initially came here, I didn't feel very connected to most supposedly asexual people here due to how "sexual" they seemed), but whatever. I feel like I've exhausted this discussion
  6. Holy crap, a novel adaptation too? Im really behind 😣

Question for people who have met someone you met online

I havent done it but I imagine that prior to meeting in real life, they must have at least done a few video chats or sent pictures to one another; something along those lines. Otherwise it would make a meeting not only difficult but they may end up getting a surprise they may not like.

    ByeYall!

If I have to hear another rightwing shithead tell me how great everything is going, how great Trump and his alt-right buddies are I'm going to explode like a nuclear bomb. I'm trying to stay out of this shit yet they drag me back in. I don't want to talk about politics. I don't want to hear your nutjob opinions. Please help me not to go insane.

I understand what you mean. Have you tried focusing on fun things/hobbies you enjoy?

I was curious and read some chapters from the seventh book. It turns out that there really is an aro character.

Sued for not handing over your cash.
  11. When you got to where you were going to meet them, how did you know who to it was?

    Am I alone?

I most definitely agree!! For sexual people, when engaging in a relationship, the lack of sex can be seen as a lack of interest while, on the other hand, all the touching or cuddling is often mistaken as foreplay which may end up leading to sex. As a sensual romantic asexual, myself, I too find this extremely frustrating. P.S.:Thanks for the cake

Hmmm....I don't think I experience queer platonic attraction but I do have some friends who are pretty amazing! One even inspired me to climb a mountain last December! He loves mountain climbing, mountain biking and pretty much anything having to do with the outdoors!
  14. Difficulty in understanding comes from seeing things in isolation from each other. Words are themselves abstractions of reality. Our brains are trained and have evolved to view objects and words selectively and assign connections to find meaning. The resultant thinking (about words) is completely abstract and separate from concrete reality. Explanation is NOT understanding. When we can see a thing holistically, in its context, we can see that thing more fully as itself. Its whole self. Seeing a dog is real and reading the word dog is not. Understanding is without abstract or logical explanation. "Definite" suggests isolation. "Nothing" precludes everything.

i am alone, i have depression and anxiety. I have never being in a relationship. I would like someone to cuddle with.
  17. Sound interesting! Judging from the comments it sounds like there's some (surprisingly nice and civil) debate as to how centered on asexuality the story actually is, which is interesting. Too bad it's not actually on Crunchyroll though, otherwise I'd check out the anime. Maybe I'll go searching for the manga instead, though.
  18. So manga first. That's the info I was looking for

    anyone past 50 on here?

Because we get a lot of freeze/thaw/freeze here, we also get a lot of icy and black ice conditions. If you just get straight-up dry snow they don’t gain you anything over regular snows. I think they only saved me one time in Potsdam, where the weather is more comparable to yours.

    anyone past 50 on here?

I love your photos @cdrdash! It is still very brown here...and one of those flowers reminds me of a very noxious weed we have here called Wild Parsnip. Hopefully it is something totally different. The rock formations were my favorite though... @ryn2 I didn't realize NY allowed studded snow tires (I do know that it varies by state but I haven't ever bothered with anything other than regular snows - don't have a large commute when I do have to travel in such weather). I don't think I have ever seen them. Although we don't get nearly the snow you do over in this corner...

    #AsexualProblems

Just wanted to interject and remind people that sex work shaming is essentially slut shaming and inherently misogynistic as heck. Just as no one should shame you for your choices and/or orientation, you should in kind, return that respect. 🥰

    anyone past 50 on here?

I always find it sadly hilarious that, while I have forgotten nearly all the formulae I was officially taught in school, years of hanging out with “the wrong crowd” during that same timeframe - especially with one very profit-minded ringleader type - have left “28.75 grams per ounce” permanently stored in the readily-accessible part of my brain.
