Trying to understand reasons for sex
MoraDollie replied to MAnonB's topic in Asexual Musings and Rantings
Sex can be done for a WIDE variety of reasons: Just for the purpose of trying to make a baby Feel the nice sensations that orgasms bring Bonding because it releases oxytocin and other feel good/bonding bio-chemical hormones in your brain "Makeup sex" where you do it to feel good after a fight with a partner "Just flush out the pipes" (common reason for 'friends with benefits' ordeal) Money - sex work is the oldest profession for a reason and we've seen instances similar in the animal kingdom (look at penguins with exchanging pebbles for sex, monkeys have d -

Twice a month, because that's how we get paid at work. But then, isn't it rather biweekly or something?

Well. In my country almost everything is with hazelnuts, so yeah, I would be very careful with my choices. Most likely no.

J. van Deijck replied to Lilihierax's topic in Census Forum
Do pets even understand the concept of birthdays? At most, my cats would be confused as to why they got their food in different form. -
Not always. There are still some places where they pay salaries in cash. Very rarely, though.

If I'm aroflux can I call my relationship a qpr ?
everywhere and nowhere replied to Valerie415's topic in Romantic and Aromantic Orientations
Why should QPRs even be limited to aromantic people? And why does everything have to be pigeonholed? There are no two people with identical experiences, so the use of any label, almost any word, is always an approximation. If you feel that a particular term best describes your relationship, you should be free to use it. -
If I'm aroflux can I call my relationship a qpr ?
Sarah-Sylvia replied to Valerie415's topic in Romantic and Aromantic Orientations
@Valerie415Hi. A qpr is about the relationship itself, so even someone romantic could be in a qpr. It'd be about what the 2 people in the relationship want (the intention and expectations), and qprs can skirt the lines a little too in any case, it's just that it's mainly platonic. -
People have sex for various reasons; it's very personal for each individual. For some people, it may be about experiencing physical pleasure. For some, it may be more emotional. For others, a combination of both. For some, there may be a lot of play/fantasy involved. For others, not so much. Some people may only have sex as part of a committed relationship; others may approach it in a more casual way. Some might have sex just to have children. There's no 'right' or 'better' reason; you should do (or not do) what feels right for you. Personally speaking as a questioning ace, I have

If I'm aroflux can I call my relationship a qpr ?
Valerie415 posted a topic in Romantic and Aromantic Orientations
I am aromantic-flux, I was wondering if I were to be in a committed relationship based on a consistent platonic connection but there were romantic feelings sometimes if I should still call that a QPR -
I am hoping for a dry, sunny weekend, as a change from our relentless cloud and rain. More from the squirrel escapades. He can knock the baffle down easily now, so he just skims up the pole. I have put an old feeder up which is heavier and he can't knock down. This is the result.

I understand (or ressonate?) with the saying “does it really matter” if he is in fact asexual or not. What matters here is that you try to find a solution, where you ‘compromise’ on the idea of how to be together, in order to actually stay together and stay sane and happy. I can feel the fear of how the number two relationship can eventually become the number one and perhaps the original migth feel odd or “is he now more of a roommate, than my partner?” but I guess if that happens, it will do so gradually. What is hoped for, I guess, is to get the best of both worlds. And -
Cake… no wait, garlic bread… no, cake. no… If I do like sex but still prefer cake to sex, does that make me asexual?
