HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN ASEXUAL ?

Many =/= All people. The thing is that like personality, vision, hearing, sensory system are all vulnerable to changes in structure of the brain and chemical of the brain to the point where it can't be denied that even inherent traits are subjected to being affected by brain changes. As with all the other inherent aspects, sexuality doesn't have immunity to changes within structure of the brain. There's no evidence to suggest sexuality get a pass from that like at all.
  4. You asked why don't asexuals like sexy lingerie. The answer to that should be incredibly obvious. If you asked why they didn't understand that some sexuals do like it, then your response makes more sense.

    Kinda confused

Labels are ultimately up to you, but you can still fantasize and be ace. It's really determined by whether you want to do it with a person or not. Sounds like you might be a romantic ace of some sort if you want romantic relationships but not sexual ones. Also, there are different types of attraction. If you look at someone and think, "wow, they're pretty" that's an aesthetic attraction. If you look at someone and think, "wow, I want to date them" that's a romantic attraction. It's only sexual attraction if you look at someone and think, "wow, I would totally sleep with them". So you finding women attractive might be aesthetic or romantic. Hope that helps! Welcome to AVEN!

HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN ASEXUAL ?

In which case why do so many asexuals get upset when people say “you just haven’t found the right partner yet” or “once you've have sex you definitely like it” and such? There’s loads of threads and posts like this. If orientations are subject to potential change, these are absolutely perfectly reasonable comments/questions and people should stop getting upset by them shouldn’t they?

    anyone past 50 on here?

My cats had an altercation with a racoon through a window years ago and made sounds I had never heard before nor do I want to hear ever again. He saw something for sure.

    Friend not getting it whatsoever

Thanks! Yeah, he has a very binary view of the world, and whatever does not fit his specific worldview is automatically bad or doesn't exist. Though the real fun begins if I tell him I'm trans on top of being ace. Fortunately he hasn't brought it up for a while now, but I know how he is, it'll be discussed again. I still love how he just stopped talking when I asked how much money he would put behind his statement.

I really hate when on horror movies , they just completely ruin the course of the movie by randomly interjecting some lame joke, romance, sex or really anything that takes away the point of a horror movie which is to scare you (jump scares dont count)

HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN ASEXUAL ?

No Freddie Mercury went from being gay and in denial to gay and no longer in denial. He didn’t evolve in to being homosexual. How do you know Frank Warren discovered a new gender at a late age? I don’t see any evidence of that.

Oh I mean you seem to fall under the umbrella at least. Then it's your choice to sort of figure out where you fall. Also, lovely comment about the butts, it was really quite amusing (maybe my immaturity is kicking in, but oh I love it [the butt comment, not my immaturity {although perhaps that also}]). A very warm welcome here! Cake (we greet new people with cake, and basically just trade in cake). Have some cake🍰🍰🍰🍰.

    Wake up routine

I put night owl, but I'm just as fine getting up early as I am going to bed late (although not both at the same time). I usually adjust fine to any waking/sleeping time. I had various schedules over the course of my working life, and rarely needed to use an alarm clock. In any case I usually just get up and get my day started (without needing caffeination), but not without food.

HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN ASEXUAL ?

Nothing in this world is black and white @James121. Why do you think the chemicals in a brain can't change enough to alter orientation? What makes orientation so special it's immutable?

    Lingerie...What's the point?

We gather it's for a sexual reason; what exactly that reason is is not obvious when you don't feel instinctive sexuality.

    Kinda confused

Hello, first post, ever-ish. Long story short:getting over depression and finding myself. I think I’m ace or at very least grey-ace but thought I’d check a bit. So, I’m kinda confused, 27M, and only started dating a couple of years ago. I’ve always wanted to be in a relationship because I like the idea of a it, especially that one who will try to support and stick by you. And I found out about asexuals and for some reason it always stuck with me. Anywho, I go back and forth because: -I know I like women, because they are pleasing to look at, I also like the look of butts. Not sure why.... they look soft haha. Which I’m not sure if that’s a sign or not. -I fantasize about things, watch those vids, etc but when given the chance I never do anything and I’m just happy we are in the same room. I think it’s actually how a relationship with someone I deeply cared about started to crumble, because I didn’t try anything, other than hugs, even when she gave multiple hints. -I find how sexualized everything/one is off putting. -Not sad about being a virgin; I’m sad because I haven’t found anyone yet and worried because people rank sex up high as a reason why they would breakup with someone. Otherwise I’m fine. -been told I act asexual. Not sure if it’s me being asexual or maybe just lack of experience. In the end I know it’s up to me to define myself, but I guess it’s nice to hear what other like people think. Sorry for the long post, feel a bit loss and it’ll be nice to have a place to fit in and if not, you all seem like lovely people anyway. Edit: sorry if text is large, wrote this on mobile and can’t seem to make it smaller haha

    Lingerie...What's the point?

Why not? Aces aren’t thick. Surely the answer is obvious is it not? I suppose it wouldn’t be if you are an ace and you’ve been living in the kalahari desert though.

HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN ASEXUAL ?

@James121, some people do. Not many, I'll accept, but some do. Just take the late Freddie Mercury as an example, he went from girlfriend to gay, and others like Frank Warren discover a new gender identity at a late age

    Has anyone purchased eyeglasses online?

I got mine off Goggles4U in the UK - good experience, arrived really quickly and they fit well through these ones cost 50 quid and you get what you pay for - I was cleaning them one time and the side broke through was able to glue it back together well. Also if you spend more I'm sure you could get glass though these lenses are just plastic but very thin and sleek,
  25. Remmirath

How would you describe your gender?

Null set. Nonexistant. Gender is a concept that I don't truly understand (not on a personal level), and so that's about the best I can do. I don't seem to have it, I can't relate to it, and it constantly frustrates me that people insist on applying it to me. I'd prefer for there to be nothing anyone could take as gendered about me. My ideal would be for the language to not differentiate people based on gender, but given that English does, neutral pronouns are the best I can hope for. I can't tell the difference between actual gendered behaviour and stereotypes, apparently - I spent years assuming it was all stereotypes and being baffled as to why anyone would be upset at me for pointing that "really obvious fact" out - so now I just let the people who understand it sort all that out and try to listen and understand as best I can. That's probably part of my general difficulty understanding and relating to other people, though, rather than anything else, and I'm still working on it.
