For women do you mean yeast infections? Or urinary track infections? As for yeast, it is very common for women to get yeast infections because of changes in pH which can be simply affected by hormonal changes throughout the menstrual cycle. I wouldn't stress over it. Its just a sort of tradition, doesn't really mean much. I've gotten such cards, and its a nice gesture, but I don't read through carefully to see if everyone has written something "thoughtful", or even check who responded. As the above post suggests, something simple is completely fine.

If possible, a completely open and non-judgemental conversation is best, but a lot of people (myself included) find that difficult. Its so easy to get embarrassed, or offended when discussing sex. Still, I think the goal is to find out if you can both be happy together.

Its all complicated. Most people are shy about discussing specific sexual activities, but at the same time "sex", "intimacy" can have very different meanings for different people. The term "sex" is just as unclear, depending on the person it can mean a specific sexual act, or any activity that results in arousal. I agree that using "intimacy" to mean sex is bad, but not sure how to avoid offending people by being explicit.

I always just write something along the line of "good luck" or "best wishes" and nothing else. generic positivity. no clue what that means to others though. Would that come off as rude? don't care if it does, though, cause it's their fault for interpreting well-wishing as negative.
