Palovana
Bonsoir! Guten Abend! Buonasera! Hej! Terve! Cool thread! I have never lived outside the United States but I'm obsessed with languages. I studied German for several years in school and it's really the only language other than English that I can have a conversation in. The others I've taught myself. I can read French quite well but I'm a bit slow in speaking it, and I can't speak Italian, Swedish, or Finnish beyond a few phrases, but it's fun to learn! ^_^

Krisztiana12
Wow so many different languages. Well, whoever speaks Tagalog this is for you, kamusta! :D Coming from a country that has English as one of its official language, it comes second nature to us to learn it but knowing people who live in non English speaking countries I'm amazed at their knowledge of it since even for us it's confusing at times. penaynay
Hello. I'm from China but I'm currently living in the states, so my first language is Chinese but my primary language is English. I've noticed that my Chinese have been getting worst over time, since I have no one to speak Chinese to. But if there are people who I can speak Chinese to they often make fun of my accent so I don't like speaking Chinese.
Kuebiko
你好! My country makes us study English and Chinese, so there's no actual 'first' language? I think? I'm not very sure how it works but like, Chinese isn't our second language but our mother tongue, although majority of our lessons are conducted in English.
