Is it common for asexuals to not be turned on by breasts and butts?

But really, it all depends on the person! I, for example, think boobs and butts are cute and beautiful and I like to staring at both (butts more than boobs)- however I have never been turned on by them. And I'm not repulsed to the idea that one day I might be turned on by them because hey, asexuality is funny that way.

Breasts? Well, I'm heteroromantic, so I couldn't care less about the female anatomy. As for males... I have never been turned on by anything a man's derriere. :P I'd say it's pretty normal when you're ace.

I think this is probably more of a sensual attraction (or even libidoist) distinction than a distinction about asexuality?

My experience (having some hetero-sensual tendencies) has already been summed up near perfectly:

I have never seen a woman and thought that I want to have sex with her. I have never seen a pair of breasts or butt I like and thought that I want to have sex with her. That to me is what it means to be asexual. My appreciation for breasts (...) ends at wanting to feel them but, I don't associate that with wanting to have sex. Having an appreciation for those that are deemed as sexual doesn't automatically mean that I want to be with that woman sexually.

So while it might be relatively uncommon for asexuals to be turned on by breasts, butts or any other part of the body, I'd aruge that it's not absolutely impossible.

Littleheartsofjoy, that scene makes me really sad. That guy is a total jerk and I worry about that poor girl's self worth. Men don't talk to me like that, and if they did it would only happen once. And if I heard a guy say something like that to one of my friends it would be bad. There is no reason to talk to a woman as if she's got a price tag poked through her ear. gross.

Breasts are for babies. I find them attractive on a woman - but in a comparing hers to mine kind of way. Jealousy.

Butts are not for pooping. Sphincters are for pooping. Butts are for sittting, walking, climbing and any number of other physical activities. A firm, lifted, round butt is a sign of a physically athletic person. I like looking at butts when they're snugged into a nice pair of jeans.

As for being turned on by them? No. That doesn't happen in my little world. I'll nod in agreement or even point out a nice butt or breasts. But that doesn't mean I want to touch it or feel anything for it. Personally, I hate having my breasts touched, even by people I've been intimate with.

I don't get turned on by any body part, whether breasts or butts or genitals. It's more aesthetically, emotionally and chemistry. All my life my friends have thought I'm weird cause I keep falling in love with what they see as "ugly" people whether they're much older, over weight or just have a bad fashion sense. Cause when I fall in love what they look like doesn't matter. Though I do know beauty when I see it. And I don't think all of those I've loved to be beautiful or aesthetically pleasing, I just sort of look beyond that. So no, I don't get turned on by how people look, even if they are truly gorgeous.

One of the great mysteries of life to me will always be how people are attracted to breasts and butts. Only body parts I care about are collarbones, eyes, and jaws.

I can tell you with all honesty that I am VERY turned off by breasts and butts! All of my sexual friends seem drawn to them.

I actually think boobs are pretty awesome (and awesomely pretty, in a good number of cases  ).

Never managed to relate to what's supposed to be the big deal about butts, though. Two big muscles and some fatty tissue, commonly used for sitting. So what? *shrug*

I do not find either of these things attractive, on either gender. Have even asked people to explain to me why breasts/butts are particularly attractive. No one has ever given me an answer besides 'they just are'. So yeah, I do not understand it.

I like breasts and bums sexually when they're clothed and if the clothing is moving (e.g. wind), but if naked I find them quite ugly.

Me too, well, maybe not always ugly but more often than not I find them, to use the technical term "meh".

Also, I don't think I've ever been "turned on" or "horny", not like I see it manifest in other people anyway.

If somebody was turned on by breasts and butts, I would call this person sexual.

If 'somebody' were a man, I would call it a normal electro-chemical stimulus response, genetically hardwired. Like salivating at food.

As far as actually pursuing it... no. That's disgusting.

boobs and butts don't do anything for me. there are beautiful parts of the human body, but I don't get turned on by looking at or generally interacting with them.

not sure how to say this without sounding like I'm objectifying these woman, but.... if I'm already mentally aroused, and I'm watching porn where a woman present them in a sensual or sexual way, sometimes find my arousal increases. maybe it's because they are portraying that they are interested in me (the viewer), or maybe it's almost like "any port in the storm will do."... who knows. it's quite confusing, so I just don't watch it.

Thing is, I never "salivate" at food unless I actually want to eat it.

Yeah, I don't know what it is like to salivate at food. Seriously. Of course, I have anticipated food, but never to that point.

I never really understood how someone could be "turned on" by breasts or butts. I can fully understand how certain acts like stripping for example or other actions could be a possible turn on for someone but I never got how just the sight of a body part would be a turn on.

I mean, I personally have nothing against breasts or butts. When I see like artistic nude photographs I can appreciate the breasts but there's something about butts... I'm not exactly sure why but I've never really found butts that appealing. when it comes to drawing and animation I can laugh and joke about breasts and butts but for some reason when its a real person there's that sort of disconnect and I just go "Eeehhhhh..."

I understand that for some reason I'll never really figure out, people are attracted to those kind of things, but I'm not. In fact, when it comes to breasts, they are a massive turn-off for me.

I'm not turned on by them. I can identify who is good looking up or down below but I'm personally not attracted to those areas on either gender. I'd rather see a person's eyes, or something more meaningful.

Assuming I am in a relationship: I am attracted to my partner and find them pretty, breasts or butts would turn me on simply because it is my partner. I do not really prefer one or the other, though I do have preferences about tone and size that determine ascetic enjoyment but do not influence attraction. For example, a lightly toned but and smaller than average breasts is something I find ascetically pleasing, like people my height, natural hair colors, and floor length dresses. However, while I may view a person with these characteristics as beautiful I would not find them attractive without cause to do so.

I need a connection, something to make me feel anything about the person, and then I am just attracted to them in general instead of to any specific part of them.

Someone can be attracted to breasts and butts and still be asexual. just because someone enjoys the shape of the human form does not mean they want to have sex with that person. there are also sexuals who could not care less about breasts or butts.. it all comes down to individual tastes, whatever orientation that individual is :)

and yes, there are many asexuals who are attracted to neither breasts nor butts!

I find certain butts aesthetically pleasing, but they do nothing for me sexually. It's just like looking at a pretty picture: I like the look, but nothing else happens. I agree that you're probably some form of grey if you're actually turned on my butts and boobs :)

Hrm...how to get this thread packaged up and sent to my male friend and my female friend? :)

I've never been into either to be honest. Breasts always seemed utilitarian and annoying. I was glad I didn't have them. My friends gave me endless crap for this. My friend went so far as to tell me that "the first time I touched boob I'd call [her] to say how awesome it was." Hahaha, well I still haven't done that, but somehow I doubt I'd use the word, "awesome".

Some butts are nice and well formed but they don't do anything for me and never have and likewise for boobs. I'm more towards asethetic and appreciative of intelligence and emotions of a person. That's the more fascinating part for me :)
