I'm a triplet and I have two brothers...so I said "middle child" since one was born before me and one was born after me. (by like...2 minutes)

Wow, I can't say I've met a lot of triplets before! I knew one trio in middle school, but not well. I've met the occasional twin, though I'll admit that the twins I met had very different sibling relationships compared to my own experiences with my twin (who happens to be 2 minutes younger coincidentally). There's definitely an interesting sibling dynamic between twins, though I can't help but wonder how triplet relationships vary :)

I can't really answer the second question on the poll because I'm a twin, but there's no option for it! I suppose I could say I'm the younger sibling but it's only by 10 minutes :P

Sorry, I'm a twin myself, but I didn't quite know how to slip a twin option in there without seriously complicating the question, yet alone if triplets+ are thrown into the picture. I'm two minutes older, but I listed myself as the older sibling. Still, all the mention of twins that has popped up in this thread makes me wonder how many of us are on here. Maybe I'll create a separate twin poll and/or thread sometime!

I have one older brother. He's cool, we get along half of the time. But he keeps everyone up late with his music blasting and then it's impossible to get him up in the morning. <_<

Socially, it's been tough living in his shadow.

I'm an only child. When I was little I sometimes wanted a sibling but I didn't really think about it too much because I quite liked getting the full attention from my parents. Now when I'm older I wish I would've had siblings. The reason is that I will never have any siblings that I meet up with, never get to know their family. If I get kids they won't have any aunt/uncle nor cousins. When my parents die, hoping I will live longer than them, I will basically be alone in the family. These kind of feelings make me feel kind of lonely.

I didn't really have any peoplr who played a similar role that a sibling might play but I would say I've got more of a friend-relationship with my parents than most people I know have, don't know if it would've been any different if I had a sibling though.

Oh but I basically have 4 siblings now. I lived in the US for a year as an exchange student (I'm Swedish) and my family there had 3 kids. Later my family here in Sweden had an exchange student living here for a year. So I've still got to experience how it is to have siblings and I will always have them in my life so I'm extremely grateful for that.

I have two younger brothers. I'm the oldest. It's fun having the authority and other benefits that come with being oldest.

I have one younger brother, and we're nearly a decade apart.

A younger sister that I don't like. I'm not one for the "blood is thicker than water" ideology.

I have a sister who is 3 years younger than I am. I love her so much as she's getting older I feel like we've grown closer to one another. She is my sister and my best friend, and though I don;t get to see her much because she's in highschool i'm in uni I still try to hang out visit, plan things.

I feel like we're very similar, my sister and I both have the same interests, hobbies, and likes. It's to the point where we occasionally get mistaken for twins because our speech is similar as well. Though we sometimes disagree we eventually come to an agreement.

Hearing about sibling relationships like these always make me smile since I really cherish my relationship with my twin and all too often hear stories of apathy or animosity between siblings. That kind of sibling bond is a wonderful feeling, and kinda like how my sis and I go to separate universities and don't get to see each other as much, I'm sure that when you're hanging out together, it will be as if nothing changed and you'll have that much more to look forward to when you visit home :)

I also find it funny that people suspect your sister to be your twin, because I have the reverse happen. People can tell that I'm related to my sister, but they almost never suspect that we're twins. The speech and mannerisms always seem to be the giveaway though in these situations.

Well, I've got a sister that is four years younger than me. As children we went through the typical sibling-relationships. She adored me as the older sister, I thought her annoying but still loved her when we didn't argue over nonsense. We drifted somewhat further apart during puberty. While I never really went through much puberty-related mood issues and other typical crap teens experience during that time, my sister got hit hard. Now that she's finally through this horrible stage of her life we finally get along again. Actually, I consider her a good friend nowadays.

Having grown up together comes with a couple advantages. We can be weird around each other and laugh about the same things. Our hobbies are largely similar and we also share a couple friends and visit them together once in a while. The age differences don't really matter anymore, now that we're all grown up and that's cool. Having her around is nice these days.

Unfortunately, she isn't around that often anymore because she decided to move in with her boyfriend and lives and studies abroad now. She still visits us in pretty much every holiday though because she misses everything here. I sometimes think it would be awesome if they just could break up so she comes back... but that's quite selfish from me so I usually dismiss these thoughts quickly. I of course just want the best for her.

I have 3 sisters, one of them being my twin sister. We are the middle children, my younger sister is 23 and my oldest sister is 35 years old. So the age gap isn't really significant ;)

The relationship with my twin sister is awesome: She is my best friend, who always supports me and accompanies me through life. We are very similiar, have the same interests and are both asexual. The only thing which differs is our circle of friends - mostly because we are studying different studies and therefore attending different courses. Funny thing, everytime I met some of her friends the first time they thought I am my sister - not just because we look very similiar, but we seem to speak the same way and have the same stupid humour. My sis was the one who told me about asexuality when I was confused about my non-existent sexual attraction ^_^

The relationship with my younger sister is very good. She was often a pain in the ass, but I guess that's normal when it comes to younger siblings. She has also very similiar interests and attitudes when it comes to society, politic, life etc. She is very (!) romantic and currently in a relationship with a nice guy.

My older sister ... is totally different compared to the rest of us. Settling down to family life and love life are the most important things to her - something which isn't on my "to do - list". She has 4 young children and a nice husband. Maybe therefore asexuality is a myth to her and she can't believe that her younger sister won't ever be in a relationship. She has a different sight of the world, is not interested in politics or in discussions about society etc. We are like fire & water and nearly every discussion ends in a fight ... first we didn't get along very well, but since I am an adult we are trying to reapproach. Of course I love her, but sometimes it can be really exhausting to be with her^^

I have a sister who's 3.5 years younger than me, and we've always got along very well! We have a lot of the same interests (this used to be because she copied everything I did, but even now that she's older and she's her own person we often end up liking the same things), and I can talk about pretty much anything with her. She's always been extremely mature for her age, to a point where we've decided that she's the "older" sister because she's much more confident and comfortable with "adult" things than I am, even though she's 13 and I'm 17. We don't hang out a lot anymore since we both spend a lot of time on our computers and she also reads a lot and she usually spends Saturdays with her friends, but we still have a great sibling relationship. c:

I'm #6 of 9. 2 are deceased. I have only spoken to 1 of the leftovers since our mother died 8 years ago. She's more of an acquaintance, than a sister. 9 people who only had the accident of birth as a common denominator.

Following our biological male parents lead, psychological and physical abuse was almost a daily thing I endured. The meaning of "family", for me, is distrust, disgust, and pain.
