Is asexy the new sexy?

I have to explain where I'm coming from.

I'm a bit of a paraphiliac, as the only way I get aroused is via a fetish. However, I find that I only get aroused if the fetish is played in a mundane every day sort of manner. If it's done sexily, then I'm usually turned off.

I'll give you an example. I'm a bit of a food/eating fetishist, but the 'erotic' type of eating which usually involves deep throating or licking a sausage or banana seems quite disgusting to me, whereas if it was done in a simple 'asexy' manner, I would find it attractive.

I'm not sure how I can explain this better.

I'm not sure just what you mean by giving off an asexy vibe by eating stuff... but to answer the title of the thread, no. Asexy doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell at being the new sexy, as much as promiscuous people bad-mouth asexuality.

Asexy stuff being sexy to an asexual? That's interesting.

I guess if it's like that with you it's possible, but I still assume that's how most fetishes are, they're generally asexy. They might sexualise it up for some others but by what I can tell a fair amount of fetishists might find that a bit annoying too.

I can kind of see where you're coming from because anything overly sexual can seem like the person is trying too hard. For example, when I read a romance novel, I like it when the author leaves a few details out. When they describe every moment, not only do I think it's yucky, but it seems like they're just trying to see how graphic they can make the scenes..

I don't think this is exclusive to asexuals though. One of my guy friends posted a Korean pop music video with the girls doing raunchy dance moves in revealing outfits with a comment on how this is what people like nowadays, and several of his female friends were saying that it looks like they're trying too hard to be sexy and it made them not like it.

I have the same situation, I would only get turned on by a fetish and I am turned off if there is a sexual element involved. Maybe its the case of a sex drive that was aimed at the "wrong" thing. If you think, people with "normal" sex drive and attraction would also have things that would completely turn them off.

Interesting, I too have a mundane fettish, I have a fettish for animation, the basic, mundane kind. Follow my devant art page and everything I have animated turned me on, the ones involving recoloured sprites, and some that display a level of affection especially.

Woah, this is true to me as well.

I think that I may be a somnophile of some sort, but don't really want to watch porn of someone having sex with someone who's asleep. Because of y'know, the whole 'sex' part.

Good thing that I also lack a sex drive and pretty much discovered that thing completely by accident.

Then again I've heard that this is supposedly the difference between a fetish and a kink?

A kink being the kind of thing that allows the person who has it to also enjoy normal sex.

That made me think I was a repressed sexual for some time. I only get sexual arousal with non-sexy/ asexy things.

Could be true- at least that allows some to have sex for other reasons other than sexual attraction.

Nah, I get you. For me, stories and art involving mundane interaction between a giant/normal-sized woman are usually way "sexier" (if composed "right", being the caveat). But then again, I'm of the mind that fetish attraction is different than sexual attraction, and that you can be aroused fetishistically without necessarily being sexually aroused.
